hey guys! I'm new to SDN, just thought I'd join since it might be less nerve-wracking to share the anxiety with fellow pre-pharm students! lol

are you tier 1-ers excited? veronica said interview invitations should be coming out soon 🙂

Umm NOPE, no less nerve-racking. LOL, not for me at least. But it is in fact a great place to get answers to questions you may be having!

And yes, I am excited to be receiving at least some news soon - whether it's an interview invite or a wait list letter, at least it will be something.

UCM, if you don't me asking, but did you graudate from UC Merced? If so, which year did you graduate?

Yes I did graduate from UC Merced spring for 2010!!! woot woot! no break for me. You know when people say high school is a joke compared to undergraduate...well undergraduate is a joke compared to graduate. BIOCHEM all over again is KILLING ME!!!...

Yes, I was given this info at their supplemental application workshop and again during their Preview Day.
Still goin for it though, and I think I'll know next week if I get an interview or not.
It definitely is a bummer though, because after attending their Preview Day, I am even more attracted to their program and I know it would be a good fit for me.
My hopes are not too high, but they're not non-existent either :xf::xf::xf:

I guess we will see what happens next week. My hopes are not so high either but at least I have alternative options and plans. Got my pre-req checklist in the mail late last week.

I graduated from UCM too, but class of 2009.

I received my checklist evaluation (pre-requisites) today. Towards the bottom, it says "Bachelors Degree Expected" with a check mark. I already had my Bachelors before applying and so, I'm not sure if this is a mistake or if the applicants that have their BS or will be getting their degrees all get to be in the same category. Did anyone else with their degree also get a mark for this box?

1) There is already a thread for UoP applicants this cycle, please use that.
2) Having that box checked just means that you either have or will have a degree prior to matriculation.

Awesome!! You know, I woke up this morning and had a feeling today was going to be the day that some people received the letter. I didn't receive anything, but that's probably because I'm out of state (you're in California, right?). Maybe something will come tomorrow, because I got the impression from Veronica that everyone would get SOME type of notification whether it be an interview invite, wait list letter, or rejection letter.

It's lookin like Northern Cali applicants are the first good-news recipients 🙂
I'll be watching for the mailman tomorrow.
I'm curious if there are any SDNers living in Nor Cal that received a letter other than one inviting them for an interview? It always seems like the only people that post things are the ones that received the good news!
 
I got my interview invitation in the mail today too! For those of you that also got one, did you schedule your interviews yet??

Thanks.....No....the only thing I recieved before the invite was the checklist which I recieved about 3 weeks ago. Yes I am a tier 1 applicant

I tried calling right when I received it (about 3:00 pm today) but the woman who schedules the interviews will not be there until Monday

Thanks....you know I woke up with that feeling this morning too but I thought I would receive it by e-mail rather than regular mail. Yes I am in California and the fact that I live about 45 minutes away from the campus is probably the reason why I already received the invite. If you live out of state I would still give it a few days.

I called around 2:30 pm and was luckily able to talk to her. I didn't want to wait the whole weekend. Maybe we will interview the same day??

We would have to call during the weekdays to schedule an interview with Ms. Lupe Mazuka but I think the first interview should be early or mid-October. Let me know if anyone knows the actual date. Thanks. 🙂
 
HOLY S**T. I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the school that I have been least optimistic about due to their past statistics, so I am in shock. WOW!!!

I'm tier 1 as well and I got my checklist on Thursday. Hoping to get an interview soon. Where are you?

I received my checklist on 9/13; so it must mean my invitation should come in a few days right?!?! AHH!!! :scared:
