Last year and even the year before they only accepted one person without a degree, but interestingly they are interviewng everybody even those with no degrees.😎

Interesting. Are there any speculations as to why this is the case (since money is not the factor anymore)?

Like Delano said, I won't have one either. That's why I was so (pleasantly) surprised when I received the interview invitation, because I know the statistics of their class profiles in recent years.
Don't mean to sound harsh, but you should feel intimidated. The odds are definitely not working in our favor.
I wish I knew how many people were interviewed last year without a degree. I know they only accepted one, but I'm wondering if they interviewed a lot more. Either way, I'm proud to have come this far!!!

I got my interview invite a week ago and I just scheduled for Oct. 29th. I'm from SoCal.

I have a quick question. If in my status checker, UOP listed the date received of documents as 9/1. Does that mean that I'm in tier 3 even though I submitted in 8/24?

Sorry my bad, I just found the dates. 😛 Just in case anyone have the same question like me. Here it is....

Tier 1 - June 1 through August 1
Tier 2 - August 2 through September 1
Tier 3 - September 2 through November 1

Is anybody aware of any rejection letters already?

I spoke to Veronica earlier today. She says they are still sending tier 1 interview invites and everyone will receive some kind of letter, regardless if they are invited to an interview or not.

Hey Everyone,

Does anybody know when do interviews for Tier 2 will start?

Thanks!

That late? I would think more like November. Not sure though, you could always email Veronica 🙂

Interview for Tier 2 is in January...I confirmed this with a representative from UOP during graduate school fair...I know its quite late..I am also in Tier 2

If interviews for Tier 2 are in January, do you mean that we (I am also in Tier 2) will be hearing from UOP sometime in December?

UOP admission office will be closed for Christmas break the last 2 week of December.. So I would think we will be hearing beginning of January, and interviews maybe 2-3 weeks after that... =/

It feels like the more I prepare for the interview, the more I get nervous. Does anyone have any tips other than punching or pinching myself? 😀
October 15 is 10 days away...

What are you guys doing in order to prepare yourselves for next Friday's interview?

I'm just thinking of potential questions they may ask me and thinking how I would respond. I had my first interview a couple of week ago which definitely helped a lot....it definitely has reduced the level of anxiety. I kind of figure that they will ask the same types of questions. I also have another interview the day before which will give me some additional practice 👍 See you next Friday!!

Hey Amigo...yeah, like what RDuran said, I just had my first interview yesterday so that will help for the UoP interview. I found the interview feedback forum to be right on the money for potential questions asked, at least at my first interview, so I will use the same resource for this one.

I'm going over some behavioral type interview questions to get my mind going. SDN's interview feedback is very helpful according to a friend of mine that got accepted last year.

Hey Everyone,

Does anybody know when do interviews for Tier 2 will start?

Thanks!
hey tier 2 applicants! (I'm also tier 2)

I just emailed Veronica, and she said they're hoping to begin decisions for tier 2 sometime today or tomorrow! Yay!!

Hmm... I wonder what this means for tier 1 applicants who have not received an interview. Does it mean that they will receive a notification on the status of their file or does it mean flat out rejection?

i just recieved an interview invitation today and i am tier 1. my interview is oct 29th.

I got an interview as well!!!!! :soexcited:

Hey dnguyen401 and Red87, what date did they send the invitation letter to you ? I have not got anything yet and Veronica just replied me that they sent out a letter to me on Oct 4th . It is weird that I am in San Jose but it takes long for me to receive the letter.

For some odd reason, I got my interview invitation through e-mail.

I received mine today via e-mail as well!! Will call tomorrow. Are we given a choice of dates or is one just assigned?

I called earlier today and was given a choice of dates to choose from. I scheduled mine on the 29th :luck:

I got my letter today as well. Status: deferred. 🙄 Still hoping for the best, though!

For those of you with interviews coming up do you plan on bringing a portfolio and for girls do any of you plan on bringing a purse (or both)? I believe UOP is open file so I am not sure if I should or not. Other people have told me that it is a good idea to bring one just in case but I am wondering what people are actually going to do.

Thanks for any advice

Good question. I am curious too.

I find purses to be cumbersome. You need one of these:

But the kind that just has 1 legal pad in it and nothing else. They usually have a pocket on the inside of the front cover where you can put an ID and a couple of dollars. If you have a big set of car keys, just take the car key off the ring and take that with you so you are not jingling around all over the place. Women's dress clothes don't usually have pockets made to put stuff into them. 👎 (if they even have pockets at all)

I know for sure that a backpack is taboo on interviews so a portfolio should be sufficient; I'm bringing one just in case.

What are we supposed to put in those folders?😕

1. They are for taking notes about any interesting things about the school or the curriculum you might not have known or any other relevant information you learn from the Dean and students during whatever presentation they have.

2. Write down the questions you plan on asking your interviewer

3. Jot down some ideas about questions you might get asked. It helps to glance over these right before you go into your interview.

Mmm, makes sense. Thanks Lea.🙂

For my interview, I brought pretty much the exact thing that was in RXLEAS's picture. The portfolio works great and is sufficient for everything you will need to bring in - paper, pen, ID, (for UoP we need the passport photo),etc. I just took my single car key of my keychain and put it in a zipper pocket of the portfolio.
I did see some females at my interview bring purses, but I second what RXLEA said - I would have found a purse to be cumbersome. A portfolio looks professional 😉

Does anyone have that list of hotels that offers the UoP special rates?

There is a list on their website....somewhere lol I don't remember where. But you can also just google map nearby hotels, and call them to see if they offer a UoP discount. The Comfort Inn that I'm staying at had a UoP discount, and I think I found that place to have the cheapest rate ($60/night). It is very close, and decent enough for one night for sure.

Thanks for all your help guys! I will definately go out and get one of those portfolios. Good luck everyone and see some of you next week 😀

Are any of you going on Nov 5?
