I took Microeconomics. A lot of the schools I'm applying to require micro over macro.
 
Just checked PharmCAS and applications have been mailed out!!! Congrats for all of us who made Tier 1...now we hope for that interview invite :xf::xf:

Go on to PharmCAS and click on Pharmacy Designations on the right hand side of the screen.....you should see all the schools you applied to and whether your application was sent out.
 
I submitted my application a while back. But it said that it was not mailed. Does anyone know the reason why?

Was your application complete? Any discrepancies? I would probably contact PharmCAS to find out.

I actually checked last night before going to bed and it was updated! It was weird because it has the mailing date of 08/02 but it was still 08/01. Must be the difference in timezones. I guess it was technically 08/02 when I logged on last night according to PharmCAS timezone...either way...yay! Hopefully we'll hear something by the end of September??

Mmm could be. I just got an email from Veronica. Did anyone else get one? Stated pretty much that I was in tier 1 and what the process is gonna be like from here on out.

I got the email too...it doesn't necessarily verify that we are in Tier 1, it just means you submitted your PharmCAS on time. Some people may have received that email who had not completed the supplemental yet so did not make Tier 1. Luckily for most of us on this page, we did make tier 1 🙂

I am going to the Preview Day as well!!! I will be flying out Friday the 10th.

You're absolutely correct. It said mailing 1 and not tier 1. Anyways I submitted everything over a month ago so I am not too worried. It's the waiting to see if I will get an interview that I am scared about.:scared:

I RSVP'd. I am going to check out airfare. I might have to rent a vehicle as well since I am not sure how reliable taxis are there. What do you think the dress code is? I can't see myself wearing a suit in the middle of summer. Where will you be flying out from?

I'm renting a car. I'm sure you could arrange for a taxi, but I just prefer getting a car.
I'm not sure what the dress code is...I'm glad you asked that, maybe I will ask Veronica. When I went to the supplemental workshop, I just wore a nice blouse and some capri slacks with some semi-nice shoes. Business casual I guess I would've called it. There were people that came in sweats though...lol...I would never!!! I mean, it's not like we will get an on-the-spot interview while there (although that would be sweet!), but still, sweats? Yikes...first impressions people! So anyway, I will probably wear the same type of thing this time.
I definitely hear you on the "suit in the middle of the summer" thing. LOL Today I went to a "mock" interview at my college and I wore my full-on skirt suit...black....in Phoenix, AZ...in August....not cool (no pun intended!!)
So ya, I will be flying out from Phoenix. I think I paid around $220 round trip.

Haha. As much as I love sweats I would never wear that to any event. Yea I still need to check the prices for that date. I think I will buy my ticket in about 2 weeks. It will be nice for us to meet up and maybe grab a bite to eat or just hang out for a bit.

Hey, when it gets closer to the time that UofA opens their application maybe we can grab a coffee and talk about some of your essays or interviews or whatever. There are 7 essays on UofA's app 😉 haha

For sure! Dont wait longer than 3 weeks out to get a ticket otherwise the prices jump like crazy, just a tip!!! 🙂
 
Has anyone submitted their paper supplementals? If you do, how do you know the processing office received it?

That would be Fabs! 7 essays?!?!? That is crazy...here I am thinking 4 is a lot! WOW! Are they all supposed to be like PharmCAS personal statement length???

I can't remember the character count on them but I remember feeling very limited. But yeah, just let me know when. I'll even show you mine. They are pretty "personal" questions about your unique experiences and stuff so it's not like you can plagiarize or anything.

I have e-submitted to PharmCAS but mine shows not mailed to schools yet?
Why is this?
My application looks to be totally complete on PharmCAS.
How long between e-submitting and having them mail to schools?
I actually had one school send me an email that indicated that they had my PharmCAS?
Maybe they send it out electronically right away and snail mail takes a while, but yet the schools have the information?
If so, how important is the snail mail?

I thought that as long as my application was in before the June PCAT scores were available, it would be as early as possible.
Also can you explain the tier 1?

Veronica sent me a letter stating that they received it and what the process is gonna be like up until they received the PharmCAS app. It took about a week after I sent it for her to send a response.

When did you submit your app? Did PharmCAS already calculated your GPA? Are your LORs completed? The first batch of applications were sent out on Monday so no school should have already received your application. They may have meant that your application was in that first batch.

Some schools use a tier system for reviewing applications. If you submitted both your PharmCAS app and supplemental app (completed) before the deadline for tier 1 then your applications will be among the first to be reviewed which means you stand a better chance of getting an interview invite and actually getting accepted. By the way, tier 1 for UoP was on 08/01/10.

Hmmm....the only reason I could think of that it wasn't mailed out was if your GPA hasn't been calculated or all of your LORs haven't been received (Just as Delano said). I would check those two things, and if all that is complete, I would contact PharmCAS and see what the deal is.

Okay I think I know what happened because it just happened to me (not with UoP though). I added 2 schools to my PharmCAS app on July 29th and my application was not mailed to these 2 schools yesterday like the other schools on my application. I e-mailed PharmCAS and they told me that the July 29th addition did not meet the deadline for the first mailing and that they would be sent out in the next mailing (next week). When did you add UoP to your app and when did you submit you app? If everything on your application is dated before August 1st you will still make tier 1 because UoP goes by the date everything was submitted (the dates on PharmCAS) not when they receive it from PharmCAS. If this is the case and everything is dated before Aug 1st, don't worry...they will send it next week and you'll still make tier 1 👍

You will most likely have to fly into Oakland or SF...its about an hour drive away from oakland.....
