i think someone said pchk meant pre-req check? so are ya'll missing some pre-req courses? i still have to take psychology and so i'm assuming that's why my pchk date is not there. i'm not sure either.
Has anyone STILL have not received anything from UOP , especially if your a TIER 1 applicant. My completion date was 7/31 and my pchek date is 9/19. Still nothing! Getting very nervous, anyone else in the same boat?!

maybe their busy or something, but the pchek date is for office use only so im pretty sure its nothing REALLY important for us applicants. Have you received anything from them though, like an interview letter, wait for next quarter's grades to come out, or a rejection?

I recieved an email from Veronica Semler on Oct. 7 stating:
"Tier I review is almost completed and all letters should be sent by the end of this week. The Tier I deadline is an advantage due to the fact we have less applications on file and more interview spaces available. This will not guarantee an interview for students, but it does enhance the chances of being invited. Many interview letters have gone out, and we have also placed some students on hold. Students are placed on hold for a number of reasons but please know your application will be reviewed again during Tier II and/or Tier III. Some Tier I candidates have received a final decision letter verifying we are not able to accommodate you in this years class."
Did anyone get rejection letters yet?

My PCHK date is 9/11 and my file completion date is 6/30. I don't have a date next to the PINT office use only. I have an interview on Nov 14. Good luck you guys - from UOP's email, you'll probably hear by the end of this week to the beginning of next week. Keep your head up.

Does a PCHK (pre-req check) date mean that you have completed the pre-reqs or does it just mean they've checked and looked over if you've met all the pre-reqs?
For those of you who got interviews, were you able to see the PINT (pharmacy interview?) date online before you got the letter for the invite? Or was it updated after you received the letter by mail/email?

I just got my mail today and had finally received the letter. I guess I should be glad that it wasn't a total rejection (probably I'll receive that later in the game), but I am now placed on hold until late January. Oh yea, it was postmarked on the 9th. Sigh....

I also got a letter today. I got the "application being put on hold" letter. In the letter it says that if you're taking your first semester of OCHEM then chances are that that is the reason why you're being deferred. I'm just happy I didn't get rejected, I was so scared to open the letter! I was getting teary eyed just thinking it was going to be a rejection letter - whew! Now I can focus on my classes more.

The letter states it will re-review our application in LATE JANUARY, this is going to be AFTER interviews are granted to the tier 2 and tier 3 applicants. No point, time to apply elsewhere. *sigh*

I think you've mistaken me for someone else.

were you placed on hold cause you are missing some pre reqs? because my friend got put on hold as well, but i think its cause she took speech this summer and has not sent her transcript yet, because she is actually a pretty competitive applicant i think. she is sending her new transcripts this monday see if that helps.
Well, I am currently still missing a liberal art to complete all my liberal arts requirements for UOP. Regardless of that, they said they would re-review my application later in January, basically when interviews are given out to tier 2 and tier 3 applicants. I am going to call them on Monday for clarification, but im assuming that, its basically a prolonged rejection letter.

PCHEK 9/10 i don't have a PINT yet
I have an interview and I am not done with my prereqs. I took speech this summer and I still haven't sent in that transcript. I haven't taken Microbio or econ yet. I don't think it really matters if we have completed our prereqs or not, but it might?

Last year, I was granted an interview in late janurary after being deferred (I was tier 2 last year). So don't lose hope.

anybody thinking of a backup plan in case your car breakdown or you get stuck somehow on the way ?

Yes they are still doing tie 1 interviews, they actually begin this friday.

And for those wondering, the letter I received says "Students who are currently enrolled in the first semester of organic chemistry are typically placed on hold until fall grades are received."
So I'm guessing (and hoping) that's the reason I'm being put on hold lol.

Wow! Have you graduated with a bachelor's already? If not, you're very fortunate to be able to apply to pharmacy school with not having finished ochem yet! haha

Thanks for the luck! As far as preparing goes, basically I have been looking at the questions asked in previous years and thinking of examples in my past that I can use to answer the questions. Also, I looked up a little info on some current issues in pharmacy. I haven't done "mock interviews" or anything because I am afraid if I prepare too much, I will sound rehearsed or be too caught off guard by a question that I did not expect. Good luck to you too!!!

Same thing here. I've just stored them in the back of my mind so I hopefully have something to talk about when they ask me the "grilling" questions. But my understanding is that most of it should be laid back and straightforward except for a few of those curveballs.
Also, should we bring our resume and/or any other materials? What do you think?
