UOP 2010 application

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
my guess is that they'll review all the tier one interviewees in the middle of november. it says something like 11/15 on pharmcas, which makes sense. all the tier 1 interviewees should be deliberated together.

Ohh my- this is agony...and it hasn't been a week since my interview =/

Good, I think, really good!

sci, how long was the interview session? i'm sure you guys did alot of walking through out the campus eh? oh and did you notice if most of the girls/women, were wearing suits or not? sorry just thought i'd ask 😳

It was very cool! My interview was 40 minutes and there were two interviewers, one student and one administrator. It actually ran a couple minutes over which I've heard is a good thing, but it was initially set to a 40 minute time. We were given a tour (I've lived in Stockton for years so nothing really was a shock to me, been to Brookside Hall before, etc) and a student led the tour.

Female dress seemed "normal" to me... No outrageous Prada pant-suits, no jeans. It was what I would have expected... A mix of knee-length skirts (w/ leggings) and pants, very conservative colors. Mostly white blouse/black exterior + black shoes... Only a few really colorful girls.

all in all, a good experience.

Yeah, me too, although knowing my luck I'll get accepted and my wife will get accepted somewhere back east. That's how the cookie crumbles in my life.

whaaaaat...? well, i don't mean to be a b**** but, i hope she doesn't. SEE cookies just fine now  naah, just kidding sci ^ ^ i know your just being the sweet husband you are and there's NOTHING wrong with that really. but SHEESH...

Hey everyone- I had my interview on 10/23...i thought it was very relaxed and very minimal stress =D I really think the stressful part began after the interview..officially awaiting the results.....I know they said roughly 3-5 weeks...but I heard that an email is sent to the chosen ones...can anyone verify that?

Hi!! I hope you hear good news! can i ask questions about the interview? What did they ask ? (what questions?) Can you tell me the essay question at the interview?

Thank you gobears21! The interview was referred to as a "chat day" by the dean. There were two parts to the interview--there was one 20 minute 'chat' with a student and another 20 min 'chat' with a faculty member. I was very nervous..granted UOP was my 1st interview.

anyone in tier 2 still waiting?

Got my Tier 2 interview for Jan. 22nd at 12:30. Anybody else going that day?

Correct me if I am wrong but from my understanding, they take approximately 100 of their own pre-pharm students leaving another 100 seats open for students from other universities. So their class size is pretty large.

Well, it's around 220-225 now. They are making the classes a bit bigger.

Does anyone know when Tier 3 applicants can expect to heard from UOP?

A little over 200, with approx. 100 transfer students. As far as the interviews are concerned, I would not consider it late since they go until March. I would say we are somewhere in the middle.

Just try to get a good night's sleep tonight. The UOP interviews are pretty relaxed, everyone is super-friendly. You'll have one 15-20 minute interview with a student, and another interview with a faculty member. 1-on-1. Just try to relax, breathe, speak slowly, and you'll be fine. Good luck! 😀

Hey Antiviral-

Thanks for the advice! I'll try to get a good night sleep but it never happens the night before an interview. 😱

Anyways, good luck on the rest of your interviews. I was looking at your interview line-up and we were at 2 of the same interview together. 🙂

Have any tier 3 applicants heard anything as far as interviews?

It also may please you to know that UOP has a Winter Break between Dec. 19th and Jan 10th, in which no interviews will be scheduled, as far as I know (if someone can find something contrary, let me know). So, there is LESS of a gap between now and our interview.

It made me feel better and hope it does for you too.

Thanks Dwein2007 and Smkn808! I'll tell you guys all about it when it is over with. Unless, it went horribly wrong and I don't want to talk about it the rest of my life. heh. :xf:😎

Hey Everyone! I'm in tier 2 and I was waiting, waiting for my interview letter, rejection letter... Something! And then yesterday I get a letter saying that my application is being deferred and will be re-reviewed again in tier 3! WTH??? Does anyone think this is a good thing? Has anyone else received this same letter? Ugh, what am I supposed to think? 😕

i wouldnt call it a "good thing," but it definitely doesn't mean that you are down and out. I think you should feel disappointed, but not out of hope.

I don't know if you will feel encouraged or not but I received that letter last year. I didn't get in last year, but this year I got an interview so there is always hope.

OK thanks anyway, Cheeseboy. =\ I don't know what to think still, but I guess at least it wasn't a flat out rejection letter... Hmmm. So where did you get in this year?

I just got my acceptance email from Veronica! Yay! I'm so happy now. It's my second acceptance during this application cycle. It's such a great confidence booster. So everyone who interviewed 10/16 should check their emails. Good luck to everyone!

yep, just got mine too! Congrats Ice queen.

OMG, congrats Icequeen and cheeseboy! How exciting! 🙂 I'm still hoping for the best so, pray for me please!

CONGRATS!!! Thats great news =D cheeseboy2- when was your interview date?

Does anyone know the stats of how many people interview?

Does anyone know the stats of how many people interview?

I'm not sure about this year... but excluding the 3+3 students, there are approximately 2000 applications, 250-300 interviews, for ~100 seats.
