all with this truly unpredictable process.Hi guys, does anybody know if they reject people who they've interviewed before the week of March 19th. I know that nobody gets notified about an acceptance before then, but do they make any sort of decisions for people they've interviewed? March is so far away...
deferred 🙁
figures how unpredictable this process is - the one school i REALLY want to go to - i don't get an interview at.. but i get interviews at schools like harvard and stanford..where i really didn't think i had a shot. 🙄

I've joined the crew.
Completed 10/30
Deferred 12/06

i think i hold the record...i was complete in AUGUST, and my status page still says,"Your application is now in the screening process..."
is it possible that they forgot about me? should i call/email them (politely) and ask what's going on?
to you.I spoke to the admissions office the other day, she said that the deferred message (not the screening one that jojo1981 was referring to) meant that you didn't get an invite from the initial review, but they do offer some invites from Nov-March to people who had been deferred initially. I got the impression that they were very few and far between though, especially given the number of people who got deferred, so I'm counting Penn in my "rejection" pile.
Huh?! I think you mean "and no good thing ever dies......" 👍I'm not encouraged, but as was said in Shawshank -"hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no hope ever dies."
so if i havent been deferred or invited for an interview, and my message still says the following, i shouldnt hold my breath for good news right? *sigh*
and here i thought i might actually have a shot at an interview b/c i hadnt been deferred yet... oh well. at least now i know.
My status just changed from "deferred" to "continues to be reviewed"...could this actually mean that i still have a chance for an interview?? i'm leaning towards no, but just thought i'd ask if anyone is better informed on this
yeah i got that too
it now says
"Complete - Additional Application Progress" in green letters which makes me want to think its a good thing? haha
and then ... "Your application continues to be reviewed but there is no change in your status. Reviews will continue until March 2007."
me too. I don't see UPenn on the Wall of Shame, but I'm wondering if they culled their deferred files and rejected some kids or just told everyone to keep waiting...
I got the same thing! Why Penn, where is the love?

I noticed the same change on my page- I wonder if it has any meaning...Mine too changed from deferred to:
Complete - Additional Application Progress
Your application continues to be reviewed but there is no change in your status. Reviews will continue until March 2007.
ALL ADMISSIONS DECISIONS WILL BE ANNOUNCED THE WEEK OF MARCH 19.
Are they toying with us...why dont they just say dont get your hopes up we already know we dont like you....
I'm joining the deferred club because it seems like the cool place to be! Sent an update email on Tuesday and my status changed to deferred the same day 😀 At least my email reminded them to update my status page instead of leaving me in perpetual limbo 🙄
Crap...just got the deferred message this morning. So much for having good numbers...they must be Canadian-haters!
Anyone know when the UPenn interview season ends?
Question:
If you've been complete since early fall and haven't heard anything. It's probably safe to assume that you won't be receiving an interview. That being said, could you call in and "withdraw" your application to avoid the feeling of rejection that comes with a letter in March?
