Hello,

Has anyone heard from USC yet? I've been out of town and haven't had a chance to check my postal mail, but I received an email yesterday from the student ambassador congratulating me on my acceptance and this is basically how I found out...

just wanted to know if anyone else was in a similar situation or still waiting for an official notice?

Congrats on your acceptance! Do you mind if I ask if you applied for early decision or regular? You must be a competitive applicant if they sent out decision before their deadline (2/15).

I originally turned in my application for early decision, but then asked to change to regular decision because I wanted to see my other options. I think this is probably why I got a notice so early - they've basically had my app since November, lol. But I also haven't received an official notice, just that email, so I guess it won't feel *really* real until I have that letter in my hands.

Did you apply to any other schools?

I did get the official letter! It came with a form that I have to mail back by March 1st saying whether or not I accept. I'm going to mail it in tomorrow. I got into Univ of Puget Sound, and have not heard back from UW Seattle and Colorado State. I did not get into UIC. I would've considered UW but they haven't got back to me and I don't want to lose my place at USC. USC is a really good school, so as long as I survive I guess I'll be OK. 😛

I don't know why I got mine so early, but hopefully other people start hearing back soon!

Hello everyone,
I am one of those who is still waiting to here back from USC.
I submitted my app 1/28/2013. The last correspondence I received was and email on 2/26/2013 from the actual dean of admissions stating that she checked with the graduate office and one of my transcripts never made it so they could not review my application yet. I resent them a second copy 2/28/2013. This is nerve wracking. The wait is 😳

I'm going. I can't make it to the accepted student reception, but I had the same question about ranking and whether it was worth it/really mattered. The OT I volunteered under told me that for the most part what school you go to isn't going to make a whole lot of difference, and ultimately you have to pass the same certification exam. It will make a difference to YOU what the program is like, so pick one based off that rather than ranking, in my opinion.

I emailed Sarah Kelly yesterday and all she said was "we hope to respond to all candidates this month."

It sounds like they really don't want to disclose a specific time frame in case they lag even more during the process. They probably don't want to be held accountable for a specific time frame..?

I hope we all hear back soon so we can make our final decisions on where to go. I was looking through last year's threads and it seems like a lot of people heard back by mid-March. Either there is an even higher # of applicants this year.. or they're just slower than usual.. 😱

I got my acceptance packet via snail mail today! 🙂
I'm still debating whether it's worth the cost though.... It's over $100,000!

And yes, therapists and co-workers will judge you and hold you in a bit higher regard for having graduated from USC (because they do ask and gossip about it), but they'll judge you more on how good of a therapist you are 😉

I received my acceptance on Friday, 3/15. I only applied to USC, so I am definitely going. I submitted my application on 1/16 and my otcas was verified a few days after 2/15.

hi cjm227, thank you! i actually graduated from ucsd 2012 and moved back home to orange county. My stats were honestly not the best, but I really think it was my personal statement, letters of rec, and my experiences that got me in!
Overall GPA: 3.3
GRE: 156V 161Q 4.5W

I just tried calling but she didn't answer. I'll try again in an hour or so. Should I just ask if they have come to a decision yet? I feel like that may be weird considering I haven't received an email. Whatever, I'm dying to find out. Thanks! And congrats to you!

I just spoke to Sarah, she said I got waitlisted. But she couldn't tell me where I was on the list. Does anyone know how their waitlist works? How likely are you to get in when waitlisted or what's the latest you would find out?

I'm not sure if I should basically assume it's not going to happen for me this year or be optimistic about getting in. Any thoughts are appreciated!

I just called Sarah Kelly and she said that a letter went out on the 27th so I should find out either today or tomorrow. Considering that she told other people whether they were admitted or wait listed, I'm pretty sure that this means I wasn't admitted. Oh well. On the bright side, this makes my grad school selection process much easier!

Hi everyone,
For those of you who have visited the campus, can I ask what your impressions were? I was accepted to both USC and Loma Linda and am having a hard time deciding. I like that Loma Linda's class is smaller (and seems more personal), but I am so drawn to the fact that USC is #1. Although USC is more expensive, the program is 6 months shorter, so I kind of consider it a wash. I am going to visit the campus tomorrow, but I would love any input you guys could give me regarding your opinions of the program/campus. Thanks!

An OT that i know told me she graduated from Usc and the cost was 120k. She graduated in 2009. You should be ready for housing and tránportation too.
