Mine is at 830 but i thought everyone had teh same time....oh well good luck everyone
The verbal portion of the interview was ok. It was a bit rushed, yet very conversational.
However, I'm a bit worried about writing portion of the interview. I couldn't finish reading the article.. and I just wrote summary instead of indicating "bla bla is the main point of this article".. but oh well.. it's over haha
Anyone have any thoughts on the writing portion of the interview??
I thought it was ok. I can't really tell how other peole did. Everyone seems so friendly and in good standing.😕
Post anything usc! But 20/150 people is a little bit low.
I really didn't understand the essay it was confusing and hard to comment on because it basically verges into different main points. What do you guys think?😱
I'm sure like the pirate code, 20 is more like guidelines. If the interviewers feel that you should be accepted immediately and there happen to be 25 or 30 in that category, then they really have no reason not to take more than the suggested 20. Those who get placed on active consideration, usually they will give the stats for your group. Please share when the letters come out. You should see them in about 3 1/2- 4 weeks. I would think that November interviewees are probably the strongest of the candidates who applied early. There may be a few candidates who applied later in the application period that are strong as well, but probably not as large of a group as those that were at the November interview. Just remember the field of potential candidates has shrunk from 600 to 450 and I would expect that we'll see them accept about 1/2 (225) knowing that some people will get multiple acceptances and choose to go somewhere else (UCSF, UOP, UCSD, etc). That makes your chances ~50:50. I'd say that's pretty good odds for a school which perenially gets over 1000 applications per cycle (I think last year was 1700 apps)

WOW... ur right... 50:50 does sound like a good chance (even if a big number will end up getting in directly from the waitlist). Although... knowing the class wil be of 180 students (and 20-25 will come from TAP), i would imagine that opens up only 160 seats. ANyway, I think that just made me a lot happier. come to think about it... it's actually harder to get an interview than to get in once you already have one:
Chances to get an interview: 450/1700 = 26%
Chances to get in after the interview: 185/450 = 41%
COME ON GUYS!!!! DONT LOSE HOPE. I PROMISE ONCE WE GET IN, WE'RE GONNA PARTY UP.
i have not had an interview from this school yet...does no news mean good news or does it mean that my rejection letter will arrive shortly 🙄
i think they interview the strong applicants first. i haven't gotten an invite (yet?..i'm not a super strong applicant) but i am staying optimistic since SC is my #1 choice!
I think UCLA is going to win the football game 🙂 J/K lol
What is a lack letter and why do you get one? Finally got my lack letter today...
Shikamuru:
You don't do anything about the lack letter. I emailed Mr. Granderson about it. He said it is just an evaluation. If you receive the lack letter, he told me that your application has been reviewed. Now we have to sit and wait for interviews. Im crossing my fingers. As long as you finish all the courses that you are lacking by August 14, 2008, you are fine. However, it is recommended that you compete them as sooon as possible.
😛
LACK. Nothing bad, albeit the negative sound.
you guys should definitely complete your prerequisites as soon as possible and send in your transcript as soon as grades are posted. this means TURN IN YOUR TRANSCRIPT. i took prereqs at different schools, and their schedule for posting grades was different, so remember to keep track of all your school's transcript. trust me, your chances of getting in WILL increase every time you send in the update of course completion. it made a HUGE difference when i applied to pharmacy school last year.
anyway, msg me if anyone has questions about USC. 🙂
FIGHT ON!
Are you still pre-pharmacy or a current student?
yes! i interview in january! 🙂
