Yeah, I thought it was you, and I was wondering where "The Jesus" went for a minute there. 🙄 Ugh, that movie was terrible. It is just not funny. It's not. I don't know why people like it so much. The Big Crapowsky.
Anyway, to the other zoom zoom, the candle thing was kinda cool. Thanks for sharing.
you know, at first I thought, this rejection letter is so inappropriate - why didn't they send it to me in person? But hey! I'm from northern california, and though I'm no hippie, it makes sense to send it electronically and save some trees. In retrospect, I'd like all decisions made over email. The only reason I would want a letter is because it's a little more traditional.
However, UCSF's rej letter was the most eloquent so far. Man, I would have loved to go to school there.

another rejection from Keck here...it was my top choice. I even flew to LA over the summer for the info session to show interest (I'm from GA) and probably spent a good month on that app alone. I agree that sending an electronic rejection is pretty unprofessional, but it was nicely written.
oh well...someday I will reside in the great state of california...

i could not agree more. what is this, a lottery?! i like to think that there's more to USC's decisionmaking, and that the "math" stuff was a colossal error on the writer's part. Frankly, the sentence alone is argument for more transparency in medical school decisionmaking processes. UCSF is a fine example of a school that shows some of its thinking. This black box model is flawed from root to leaf.
Dude, you guys need to chill. When I applied a couple of years back, be it via email or paper, I tossed/deleted a decision letter as soon as I read the word "rejected." Who gives a rat's ass how nicely it's worded? It amazes me how people analyze the most ridiculous things. Perhaps med school makes you more jaded/less sensitive, but in looking back, those med school rejections were like compliments compared to what you'll experience during 3rd year (which you're paying tuition for).

It doesn't take an in-depth analysis to see that this letter is poorly written. So poor, in fact, that it is a little embarassing. Sad. 👎
usc football is awesome, and dr. quinn is an amazing and very nice woman... i'm sure she wrote the letter in what she intended to be the nicest way possible as she is the last person i know who would want to personally offend anyone. rejection is a rejection, deal.
fight on!

Tacrum, while I disagree with your big lebowski comments, which I shall ignore, I have changed my avatar...are we cool? 😛 A little Magritte, anyone?
I was recjected here pre-interview about a week ago and I'm a so cal native so it was a bit sad but whatever. like someone said in an earlier post, I know some pretty ******* people that go there because their dad knew someone or they were in a video on MTV and had connections to some crazy alumni who looked at their la vida loca sprained ankle. I'm stoked to be going to Chicago where at least they were nice enough to send all of their correspondence to me via paper mail! Keck = Poop.
