is there a specific formula for your point total?

I think it is a secret formula. I do know that the interview counts for 2/3 your total so it is your best interest to practice interview skills and research the type of questions that you might be asked.

Did anybody actually get an acceptance offer yet from USN? Is USN rolling admissions, or do they decide on the whole class at one meeting?

I got my acceptance on 11/13 on the phone from Dr. DeYoung. A day later, he sent me the acceptance letter via email. :xf: to all of you who are applying to the school. :)

I just withdrew my app and declined an interview. Hopefully one of you guys will get my spot! Good luck guys!

I'll have an interview at USN on January 19th. I am very excited, but nervous because it is my school of choice.:xf::xf::xf:

Good luck, post on here how it went, would you?

What campus are you going to?

me too ill be heading there from cali...
where r u guys gonna stay at?

I just received an invitation to interview at USN too. I chose to attend the February 16th interview day in Nevada. I was quite shocked because my PCAT score from October was pretty low. Please don't ask me what my PCAT score was...it's pretty embarrassing. I'm actually retaking the PCAT this January. Good luck to all who are interviewing or waiting for invitations! :soexcited::soexcited::soexcited:

Hello everyone, ill have an interview on Feb 2nd too. Im so nervous cuz ive never been in one before wonder what they are gonna ask. Also if anyone could tell me where i can stay in Las Vegas that is affordable and close to campus (if i can walk there :p). Thanks in advance and good luck to all! :D

I don't think there are any hotels where you can walk to campus. Sunset Station is reasonably close and I don't think it is too pricey. Look up on the interview forums to get an idea of some of the questions they have asked in the past.

Vegas has a lot of cheap hotels but the school is in Henderson and may be slightly more expensive. The Residence in by Marriott is within walking distance but might be pricey. They may shuttle you from the airport though and that can save you on a rental car.

Thank you so much for the information =) Hope to see any of you there! I probably choose Fiesta Hotel and Casino one.

Just got back from my interview at the Utah campus. Nice facility, and everything was quick and easy. I see plenty of positives and few negatives so far. Here's to an acceptance letter...

Hi guys, this is my first time posting in this forum. However, I am a regular visitor to this website. I must say that this website is amazing and very helpful. I have gained a lot of knowledge and information from the postings especially the interview feedback section.
Anyway, I have always wanted to wait to make my first post after I got an acceptance into a pharmacy school. Fortunately, I did. I just got a call from Dr. DeYoung this afternoon and he also sent me the admission email. I am very happy because it's the first school I received the interview from and also the first school accepting me.
My interview was at the Nevada campus on Jan. 19th. It went very well. The faculty and the students were very nice and friendly. I had a very good impression about the school.
Just out of curiosity, is there anyone else interviewed on the 19th also getting a call from Dr. DeYoung?
Good luck and best wishes to those of you having interviews scheduled as well as had been interviewed :xf:

Could you mind to share your stats?
Thanks

PCAT: Math 88; verbal 65; chem 79; biology 81; writing 3
Major: BS in biochem

Good luck to you, tybidn!

I need to find some information about both Nevada and Utah. Since I am out of state, I am not sure which campus to go to since I have only been to Nevada for my interview. Can someone familiar with either campus or both give me some advice or insights as far as pros and cons go? Much appreciate it.

I've been looking at apartments in both areas. The prices are very close, but in Nevada I found that they were nicer and more luxurious. I am also waiting to hear back after my Utah interview on the 21st. Tybidn, what professor did you interview with? Mine was A Dr. Zhang.

I just got an invite today!
I have a choice of 3/2 or 3/12

No, I heard interview only counts for about 2/5.

No, I heard interview only counts for about 2/5.

Thanks for info!

However all we heard only unofficial sources.
I know USN applied formula in which interview counted 2/3, but this cycle they count PCAT.
Some students gotting accepted told me the interview still important part.

Hey

Anybody got the acceptance call from USN at Utah interview jan 21st?

Thanks
Yes, I got an acceptance call from Dr. DeYoung on January 26th after interviewing at the Utah campus on January 21st. Talk about relief!!

Your stats helps me know who deserves the first calls from USN.
I went to Utah ton he same day like you. I applied either campuses.
I did very well in my interview. I haven't heard from them but i guess i'm not the tops for calls.
My science GPA: 3.65. Totall GPA:3.77
PCAT just average C
I have diploma from Medical College out of the US, cuz i came from another country.
I have two friends of my medical college classmates, who have been at Nevada campus but in their cycles, they didnt have to take PCAT for USN.

I dont know i have any chance.

tybidn

wow, you are SUPER. Congrats. It looks like I will not be getting an early call. Oh well, what do you do...

I got an interview on Feb. 16. Good luck everybody!

Interviewed on Jan 19th, received an acceptance call from Dr. Deyoung on Jan 26th.

That's probably GPA.

I was at the interview on Jan. 19, and the staff said that your application (including GPA, PCAT, etc) counts for the first 20 points, and your interview counts for the remaining 40 points. 40 out of 60 points is two-thirds.

Can any students at USN or other people at the interview that day verify this? Thx :)

I was on Jan 21st.
I also heard info like that.
BTW, anybody knows how many percent of students who got acceptance on early calls in one cycle?
I remmember Dr. Deyoung said school still mail out to others ( of course not top candidates) after they finish the interview sections based on the scored list.
Do you know any body last cycles got late acceptance letters in April or May?

Thanks

Hey everyone so I have my interview in march and I was wondering does anyone have tips? or possible interview questions. I really like USN guys

I can verify this but I already said this upthread. I know this because I attend the school and they said the interview was 40 out of 60 points. I have no idea how they come up with the other 20 points though.

Interview 40%
Prereq GPA 20%
Overal GPA 20%
PCAT + misc (prior degree, etc.) 20%

Hi,
Did any of you who appeared for an interview at USN on 2nd February get any reply from Dr. DeYoung?
If you got an acceptance from USN, please post here. So that other students can know too about where they stand.
Thanks

I just got off the phone with Dr. DeYoung about 30 minutes ago. I accepted a seat in Henderson. Good luck to those who interviewed.

That's great Caleb.
Congratulations and good luck with your career!
were you interviewed on 2nd Feb?
Is there anyone else who also got an acceptance?

Thanks and good luck to all.

Yes I interviewed on the 2nd. I don't know how many others got called today but he did say that there are plenty of seats left in both campuses when he asked where I wanted to go. I hope that helps. Good luck!

That's nice to hear. I hope to get a call soon too.

I also accepted a seat in Henderson from the Feb 2 interview. He said they still had lots of seats left.
Good luck to everyone!
