I just got my letter (OOS). Alternate spot. They said in recent years between 25-150 non-resident alternates were selected for admission.
Congrats on alternate list!! If you don’t mind my asking, What was the postmark date on your letter?

IS, got my letter just now! Intercepted the mailwoman

Edit: Should probably add it was an acceptance letter ( :soexcited::biglove:) postmarked Feb. 9!! I'm just a little too giddy right now and forgot to add those details!
Congrats!! Quick question since I’m obsessing right now. Does the size of the envelope depends on admission status?

Just got my letter (skinny envelope) in the mail. Rejected. I'm from Iowa. Good luck to everyone else! 🙂

Got a small envelope. Now I just have to figure out if it is a rejection or alternate decision.

IS applicant, rejected. 🙁 Congratulations to everyone who got in; for those of you in my position, keep your head high!! There's always next year (or other schools, if you're still waiting for some).

I'm on the west coast and haven't heard anything either! The anticipation is killing me.

Sure wish they didn’t send them in different envelopes so the moment you see that small envelope in your mailbox, you’d at least get to hold out a bit of hope. Oh well. OOS rejection, Maine.

Maybe? I'm in AZ

I'm also in AZ! I'm in my last semester at U of A, I know a couple other AZ residents who got accepted so I guess it was a popular state this year

Haven't got my letter just yet, hoping it arrives by the end of the week. Good luck to everyone waiting on the mail!

I'm also at UA [emoji23] I'm an MPH One Health student but I'll be leaving my program early now obviously regardless if it is UW or elsewhere (still waiting for a few responses).

I finally got my letter today [emoji28] I'm soo happy they called me so I was able to book my trip out there last week.

OOS alternate in Ohio, but my spot is pretty far down the list so I'm not feeling very hopeful. Congrats on everyone who got accepted!

Accepted OOS NY, but I have been accepted to my in-state so I'm going to be declining my spot for all of those on the alternate list!

Any one who was accepted or waitlisted OOS interested in sharing some of their statistics?

These were my stats when I submitted. I've acquired more hours and my GPA is slightly higher since being in a graduate program for a year. I also worked full time while taking 19-21 units a semester for Undergrad.

Cumulative Undergrad GPA = 3.36 from primary school, 3.47 overall
Overall Science GPA at submission = 3.18
Last 45 Units GPA = 3.8
GRE Analytical Writing = 5.0
GRE Quantitative = 153
GRE Verbal = 155

2000+ Animal Hours (companion animals, rodents, lagomorphs, avians)
2500+ Veterinary Hours (companion animals, caprines, equine, avians, wildlife, fish, porcine, rodents, lagomorphs)
64 Research Hours ( currently on an IACUC protocol for another project currently, but this was when my app was submitted)
300+ Employment Hours (non-animal related)

OOS Accepted, will be turning down spot
GPA 3.8
Science GPA 3.75
GRE: 74%/86%/93%
Vet experience: 1200 hours SA and exoitics
Animal experience: 1400 hours SA, wildlife
Research: 800 hours

Sorry for the lack of details, I am trying to stay anonymous so I don't want to give out anything since some of the experiences are pretty specific!

Has anyone not received a letter yet lol? I’m not sure how long I should wait before contacting them!

OOS Alternate. Just got my letter today! 218th on the list so I'm not holding my breath but still happy to not have gotten another rejection 🙂

Quick question for anyone going to the admitted students Open House tomorrow, what are y'all wearing? I brought an assortment of clothes from business casual to more business professional, but since the invite didn't say anything about a dress code I wasn't sure [emoji16]

I'm just wearing a sweater over a dress shirt and khakis. Super business casual.

Do any applicants (or current students) have a good feel for how easy it is to get shadowing experiencing in the hospital during our "free time"? Are the faculty/staff receptive, schedule ahead of time or just drop in, etc.?
