Do any applicants (or current students) have a good feel for how easy it is to get shadowing experiencing in the hospital during our "free time"? Are the faculty/staff receptive, schedule ahead of time or just drop in, etc.?
At Wisconsin you are required to shadow. You will get a "blue sheet" your first year and a "green sheet" your second year with a checklist of things that you have to see and get signed off on. You don't have to schedule, just show up and use your judgment if this is a good time to ask if you can observe. Most people are receptive, some moreso than others.

Hey guys! Wondering if I could get some help, currently #4 on the OOS waitlist. Accepted elsewhere, but UW is def my preference. Can anyone tell me when official decision day was and how you were suppose to contact them (snail mail, email, online questioner)? I thought it was the 14th(that was the decision day for my other schools). But I talked to Mary at the admissions office and she seemed to think it was Monday the 16th? Just trying to get an idea of if, or when, I’ll get a call starting to get nervous...

The universal VMCAS accept/decline deadline was April 15th, but since that fell on a Sunday that may be why there's a discrepancy.

I had thought I saw that the number 6 person on the OOS waitlist was contacted last Friday (4/13). Are you sure your contact info is correct? Perhaps I have wrong Info on that #6 person but I'm about 90%sure she was called. She notified me through a thread on this forum.

Oh, I was originally #15 on the OOS waitlist. As of last week my position has moved up to #4. Sorry for the confusion!

Ha! No problem... I was genuinely worried for you. Congrats on the placement, you should expect a call soon!

Just got off the OOS waitlist! Tbh I know nothing at Wisconsin's program because I was very focused on getting off the waitlist for my IS or going to where I put my deposit down (UPenn). However, I definitely would like to make an informed decision about whether or not to accept my seat. Any information current students/committed students could provide would be extremely helpful! TIA 🙂

Hello! I just got in off the waitlist for OOS. I was originally assigned position #53 when admission decisions were sent to us in the mail. Just wanted to share and I am fairly certain I’ll be joining the class of 2022 this fall!! (just on the waitlist for one other school)

Just an update for those following along.

The list has moved along quite a bit. Was originally #174, then #151 at the beginning of April--am now #77. Keep in mind, several people ahead of me on the list declined their seat before waitlist offers began going out.

Are you IS or OOS?

It’s still moving. I was 139 originally I think and I was just got off the waitlist!
thats awesome! I was alternate 72 as of Monday. Started at 219. So there has definitely been movement. Still not as hopeful though. Will still probably be reapplying

Just got of the waitlist at UW. I committed to CSU and am trying to compare the two. I'm OOS for both schools so UW is a lot cheaper. Since UW didn't have an interview and I didn't go to the admitted students day, I haven't actually been there before and don't know as much info as I'd like about the program. Can anyone give me some more info or some pros/cons about the program?

I'm sorry that I can't help you here, but would you mind saying what number were you on the waitlist in the last email update?

@variegata Might be able to help
@mehal14 I don't have time to type a novel/word vomit about UW since my specialty board exam is in 10 days :dead:, but if you have specific questions, go ahead and ask, and I'll try to answer them for you.

Might as well update you guys in here as well. This is from yesterday.
Please remind me if you're on the IS or OOS list? My feeling is youre on the list that I am not and I don't want to get my hopes up. Thanks!
