Hey . I was going through a question related to v/q mismatch and pulmonary embolism. Can anyone please explain this:
"Hyperventilation doesn't significantly improve arterial oxygenation as HB is fully saturated with O2 in areas of normal v/q ratio, there is little capacity of normal areas for high v/q to increase blood o2 content . "
This is in relation to the areas of lungs that receive extra blood post PE and hypoxic vasoconstriction. Tx in advance .
