I'm regular admissions and I haven't. But I heard they've already started calling a few people. So hopefully soon?
 
I'm waiting on the early decision reply too, and it's soooo frustrating. I'm part of the 10/10 interviews, and it's quite a pain in the butt to have to wait this long. (>_<)

I called VCU again today at like 4:30, and asked if they could tell me over the phone if I needed to call PharmCAS or not to get my ED status changed...and they told me not to worry because I was ACCEPTED!!!! 👍

The letters are waiting for the Dean's signature, then they will be sent out next week. UGH!

I'm sure if you call them on Monday morning to let you know if you got in or not just to make sure, and if you need to call PharmCAS to release you so that you can apply to other schools that night (but hopefully you don't need to!!! 🙂)

So....I called VCU AGAIN. This time, the lady I spoke with said they had not been mailed out yet. Hmm. That's strange, considering the lady I spoke with Wednesday said they were already in the mail!!! What about the Nov. 2nd deadline to apply to other schools?!?!?! If I don't get into VCU, I still want to apply to other schools and yet I can't because I won't have my letter by the deadline. Why do I feel like VCU did this on purpose?
 
if you were ED, why wouldn't you just assume that since you cannot already apply to other schools that you must have been accepted? however, i have heard and read that sometimes mistakes do happen with regards to your status on pharmcas. i dunno. besides...why would they even bother with a dean's signature on a deferral letter or rejection letter for that matter? i dunno 😳

No it's nothing difficult. It's just there to guide you on what to talk about. The essay is just for them to see if you can write something cohesive without grammar/spell check on the computer. I was even really tempted to write about double horned unicorns or how much i love creed from the office instead of the topic, since they said there's no right or wrong answer, as long as I had complete sentences and no spelling errors! haha

sure! here are my stats:
Nutrition major from Virginia Tech, 3.2 (cum), 3.1 (sci), 60 pcat, 4 years experience (in retail & long term care), a couple extracurriculars, great LORs, good interview, in state

kind of a miracle I got in really! woop woop! :luck:

Yes, I know we can just assume the best right now, but some of us would really like to have the letter to make it official. I mean that's why I'm anxious.
 
yea, i definitely agree with silver tea. of course I want to assume the best. however, my mind will not be at ease until i get that letter in my hand. you also never know if they want a dean's signature for any type of letter. i figure his signature would be on every piece of official mail, no matter good or bad news. i don't want to call VCU because i want to find out through my letter so I can be surprised. finding out over the phone kinda takes away from that, i think.

btw, i've had major issues with my PharmCAS app. i don't trust them for anything. i sent my PCAT scores to them 3 times!
 
ok, i have a technical question...anyone that submitted early decision and status still says "yes", were your gpa calculations finished before the ED deadline of 9/2 or afterwards? just wondering if that matters or if it only matters that phamcas had received all of the transcripts by the deadline 🙄
 
I was wondering, if you got accepted to VCU and still had some prereqs to take would it be ok to take them at a community college?

a current P1 that i am friends with needed to take A&P last summer before the beginning of classes. He took it at the local community college and it wasn't a problem. hope that helps🙂

i submitted my app literally 3 minutes before the deadline (and i even forgot to enter a digit from my credit card so I was freaking out), and they calculated my gpa, then finally mailed it out on the 14th.
 
I just called VCU and asked if they could just give me their decision. The lady said she wasn't allowed to. GRR!!! How in the world could they tell someone else, but not tell everyone?

*sigh* I just need to be patient, I guess.

BTW, they said the dean still hadn't signed the letters. Yikes!

I don't plan on it. PharmCAS can't do anything about it, and I think that is kinda underhanded. I'm really upset that my letter still isn't here and that I've been lied to by VCU numerous times now, but I won't go so far as to try to get the school in trouble.

Just a question, wasn't trying to be underhanded.
 
They are generally really slow on mailing stuff out, even with information after you've been accepted, so you really just have to wait, or you can keep calling them to see if they've actually mailed things out or not. But yeah, they're VERY VERY slow on those things.

I know this thread is for ED applicants, but are there any regular applicants who have heard anything back? I had contacted them in early October and they mentioned we will be getting phone calls soon... but no word.

Did they call for interviews? or e-mail?

Also, does VCU have preferrence for in-state?

The wait is frightening me 🙁
 
Nothing today. I feel so helpless! I don't want to call VCU for the fourth time!!! I feel like I am bugging them!

Yes, I applied early decision. I submitted my application to PharmCAS August 31st. Interviewed on October 10. Still nothing. I don't feel so alone, though, since I know that most ED people (in fact, only one person I know of has found out their decision) haven't gotten their decision yet.

I may have some insight for you. It took VCU 3 weeks to contact me for an interview after I submitted my application. They called me and left a voicemail. I called them back and arranged my interview date.

VCU seems to be very busy right now. You have to remember they are probably interviewing people almost every weekend. Also, they are making decisions about applicants and *hopefully* getting acceptance letters out to early decision applicants this week.

VCU, according to their page on PharmCAS, does not give preference to in-state students over out-of-state students.

MY LETTER CAME IN TODAY. I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everyone that has received their letters, where do you all live? i just hate how slow the mail is sometimes!!!! 😳
 
I'm currently at Virginia Tech, but the letter was sent to my house, about 10-15 minutes outside of Richmond.
I'm sure it'll come tomorrow -- the wait is almost over!
 
I'm at Virginia Tech too, and the letter also went to my home address in Lynchburg, (roughly 2.5 hours from Richmond, for out-of-staters). So, either expect them soon, or start calling home!

I had my address at college on my application and somehow, it still got sent to my home. Somehow.
 
I got mine this weekend, my parents called me to tell me they had received it! I'm at Virginia Tech, and had my interview stuff mailed here, but for some reason had the acceptance mailed home too! Weird!

Yay for VCU 2014!!!
 
First let me say congrats to all that received admission letters to VCU/MCV yesterday.

I was at the Oct. 10 interview as an out-of-state non early admission student. I also received my admission letter from VCU on Nov. 9.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you soon.

P.S. Anyone else from that Oct. 10th interview get in as well?

I was told that I was accepted on the phone:laugh:, but did not get a letter yet.😕
I moved recently and requested forwarding service to USPS. There might be some errors in delivering the letter to my new address. :scared:
I talked to the office and they would send the letter again.

What were in your letters? Do they require a deposit to ED? Is there anything I have to take care of right now?

Thank you guys. Waiting is hard and I am still waiting for my letter.
 
I have an interview to VCU on 11/21. I'm very nervous...and I haven't ever been to Richmond.

I just mailed a $500 deposit and a 2x2 photo of myself today! It's due by the 11/23/09
 
I got my acceptance letter this past Monday 😀 😀

I sent my $1000.00 deposite does anyone know if they send receipt to verify they recieved the deposite?
