I will be a business major.

Should I be taking General chem/bio, or General chem/bio for science majors??? Some PharmD schools' prereq list says you need to take the science major classes and some don't...but I'm not a science major.

What should I be taking?

What classes did you guys take if you weren't a science major??

I'm not quite sure what your asking.

So, your a business major and you want need to take a science elective? Are you wanting to go to pharmacy school?

If your a business major then I think most colleges require you to take a science elective, such as a semester of general chemistry or a semester of general biology. At my university, business majors take a course lower than what science majors take for their general science classes (chem120 instead of chem121a/b and biol101 instead of biol110/111). But I think this only applies to certain schools.

If you are, however, going into pharmacy school then you should look at their pre-pharmacy curriculum and try and follow that closely.

Try going into your admissions office and see if you can find a curriculum guide with recommended classes for your major or just speak to an advisor

Take the classes for science majors. The non-science major classes are probably too easy. You need not just to satisfy the prerequisites but to learn the material. The harder classes will help you on the PCAT and later for pharmacy school. You can enroll in the science major classes even if you aren't a science major. If you have an advisor, just tell them you need them for pharmacy school.

Not to sound mean or anything but....this is why they have ACADEMIC ADVISERS!

CALL YOUR DAMN SCHOOL.

You have made the SAME THREAD THREE TIMES.

Do you REALLY think you're going to get any new advice?

If this is how you handle questions, you probably aren't going to be able to hack it in pharmacy school anyways.

Some advisors don't know about pharmacy schools - they only know about the programs at their school.

If you want to go to pharmacy college and chose to be a business major, you should work your pharmacy prereqs into your curriculum. Otherwise, you'll be spending 2-3 yrs after you graduate taking 100 and 200 level classes. Consider either having a double major, like chem and business, or having one as a minor.

You should decide now what pharmacy schools you'd like to apply, so you'll know what the prereqs are. Definitely take the science classes for science majors. Pharmacy schools will not accept the easier ones.

Good luck.

JAT - I think you need to spend sometime researching on your own - read the FAQ at the top of the prepharmacy forum - and then come back.

You have posed this question before. I am uncertain why you chose business as your major if you want to be a pharmacist - It will cause you to take classes that have little to do with pharmacy as a whole.

That being said - I am unfamiliar with the bio for non majors - but I can promise you it is not a class you need to be taking.

Bio and chem need to be very much science based (physics is an exception). Typically, I would not recommend academic counselors - but for you JAT, I think you need to sit down with someone and talk it out. You are clearly young, and confused about which path to take.
