Greetings from VMCAS!

The VMCAS 2015 application cycle launches on Thursday, June 5th, at around 2pm Eastern Time. Here are a couple of links to get you started:
  • VMCAS WEBSITE: This SHOULD be your hub of information throughout the VMCAS cycle. News, and important information is updates regularly as things WILL change throughout the cycle.
  • TRANSCRIPT VERIFICATION: This is CRITCIAL information for you to know! VMCAS recommends getting S.E.T. for verification by getting some of your materials into VMCAS by September 2nd, 2014. While this is NOT a deadline, it will best position you to have your application verified early!
  • WORKSHOP WEBINARS: Beginning in July, 2014, VMCAS offers live customers service Application Workshop Webinars. See the link for all our webinars.
  • ON-SITE APPLICATION WORKSHOP: Tony Wynne, Director of Admissions & Recruitment Affairs at AAVMC (and Director of VMCAS) will be at the North Carolina State University to help applicants with their applications. *IF* you are at NCSU or the immediate area, please register for the workshop at this link. (More regional workshop are in the works!!)
  • FEE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM: VMCAS is offering a fee reimbursement program for the first time this year. The program will open on June 5th around 2pm when the application launches. Qualified VMCAS applicants can submit requests to VMCAS to have the first designation (school) refunded by VMCAS (a $195 value).
  • RE-APPLICATION PROCESS: If you applied to VMCAS during the VMCAS 2014 cycle (last year), you can pick up your application where you left off this year (whether you submitted your application or not)! Instructions are found at this link.
  • AAVMC/VMCAS NEWSLETTERS: AAVMC has launched a program called the VetSchool Student Engagement System (VSES). Get monthly newsletters called "Pathway" from VMCAS Staff that's tailored to your academic status. Link the link to join!
Have a great VMCAS cycle, and remember we are here to help in any way you need us:

Holy crap, it's that time again already?

Just a plug for upcoming applicants: Take them up on their hotline. I called at least twice when I was going through the process and found their staff to be very useful. I've griped a lot about a few specific points of the VMCAS process (and they've fixed my main gripe) .... but in fairness their staff were really super responsive and helpful.

Thanks for the post! Yup, and now that the VMCAS 2015 application is launched, I can start working on VMCAS 2016! 🙂 LOTS OF AMAZING SURPRISES COMING NEXT YEAR.. can't wait!

Already have everything in except my personal statement and experience. Woot!

I've got mine started! :soexcited:

@VMCASSTAFF I have a suggestion for next year, especially since info carries over now. Allow for previously "In Progress/Planned Coursework" to be changed to completed without us having to redo all of the information input, then delete each course, then delete the old semester. I'm hoping you don't tell me there was an easier way to do it the whole time 😛

Yes! As a re-applicant, I didn't know that I couldn't just edit my "Planned/In Progress" semester to "Completed" and spent a while figuring trying to figure out what I was doing wrong >.<

Excellent recommendation and will definitely put this in the enhancement list for VMCAS 2016.

I'm just glad I didn't miss something obvious!
