Do you know if they let waitlisted acceptees defer?

To anyone who got into Hopkins with the past two or three days:

Do you know the deadline by which they want a response? Is it Monday? And is it by verbal agreement, as in a phone call, or by just sending back the form?

I'm not sure about the option to defer. As far as making a decision goes, they were pretty loose with me on the phone. They asked if I wanted the weekend or some more time to think about it, and I said yes. I am going to call them on Monday, though.

If a school accepts 250 students and 150 enroll, then does that mean that 100 students are taken off the waiting list?

No, alas, it does not. Schools often "overbook" in anticipation of withdrawals.
