- Around 700 hours as a medical assistant (started beginning of junior year)
- around 600 hours: of volunteering at various free clinics at my college town and then back in my hometown (continuous) + hospice volunteer
Research experience and productivity
- Around 1300 hours spread across 2 labs
- at one of the labs i act as a mentor and teach new RAs !
- 3 posters but no pubs
Shadowing experience and specialties represented
- 90 hours shadowing primary care
- 20 shadowing Ent
Non-clinical volunteering
- 80 hours working with kids with autism and getting them to play sports, play games, etc (give parents a break but also interact with fun kids)
- 150 hours of food distribution & food pantry work >> involves sorting food but also interviewing new people who grab food
- 40 hours of working with volunteering for homeless where we assemble kits, give out food, etc
- 50 hours of being with kids with cerebral palsy
- 100 hours as a health navigation volunteer where I essentially help/navigate ppl through the system and help sign them up for healthcare!!

- TA for general chemistry class
- on college’s student government where I have an active role in influencing curriculum changes, increasing student access, etc

- have a lot of hours working as a nail shop receptionist where I help book appointments but also translate English to Vietnamese and vice Versa
- mostly just applied to TX MD & DO since I heard theres a disadvantage when applying OOS? Also the tuition OOS is extremely high so I’d like to stay in state anyways.
