Hey! The first thing I thought of is don't forget to take Cell Biology for Auburn!! I think the most important thing going forward would be to make sure you have a cohesive theme for your app, with VMCAS opening up definitely start thinking about how you can show that your experiences relate to your goals with your essays and supplemental questions. You may already have it figured out but start thinking about who you'd want to write good, strong recs for you, and check each school's preferences--some prefer 2/3 from DVMs, some only require 1/3. I think if you could get some more large animal/equine experience after your externship that would be great, but not 100% necessary in my opinion. I'm guessing you'd like to stay in the south based on your list, so maybe consider VMCVM, UT, or NC State :)

Thank you so much for your reply! And yes! I am taking Cell Bio in the fall of 2021. I called them and they said that as long as I have taken it prior to matriculation, all good! My goal is to be small animal GP/ surgery and also see small mammals so that is what I have tried to get most of my hours in, but my school offers mainly large animal courses so I have some of those hours in there as well! I was thinking about having letters of recs from 2 veterinarians, one professor (he taught me chem 1, orgo 1&2, and is now my research professor), and then the director and founder of a nonprofit that I volunteer for! :)
