cGPA and sGPA:
cGPA: 3.52 sGPA 3.30
strong upward trend from freshman year, had a death in my family and that impacted by GPA.

MCAT: 522 (129, 130, 131, 132)

Ethnicity: White

NC Resident

Research hours: 400, no publications

Nonclinical Volunteering: 150

Clinical Volunteering: 120

Shadowing: 160

Leadership Experience: 300

I am hesitant that I can have success with applications due to my very poor GPA. Ideally would want to go to a state school but was wondering if my GPA would prevent me from getting acceptances. Would like some guidance regarding if I can be competitive this cycle.

What is the breakdown by hours and activity for your clinical and non clinical volunteering
Clinical:
Providing First Aid to school events through a student org: 50 hours
Volunteering at a free clinic: 70 hours
Non-clinical:
Food Pantry: 50 hours
Volunteering at a thrift store that supports domestic violence victims: 50 hours
Crisis Counselor Volunteer: 50 hours

Your main weakness is not your GPA but rather your low clinical and non clinical volunteering hours. I suggest these schools with your stats:
UNC
East Carolina
Methodist
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
NOVA MD
USF Morsani
Belmont
Alice Walton
TCU
Roseman
Ponce (St. Louis)
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Western Michigan
Oakland Beaumont
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Penn State
Hackensack
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Some schools screen at 150 hours for clinical volunteering so accumulate another 80+ hours at the free clinic before you submit your application. Also, another 50+ hours at the food pantry or Crisis Counselor would be beneficial.
