Hey I'm an instate applicant, and I've been on hold for an interview at wayne state since January, just tryin to see if anyone is or has been in this boat.
A friend last yr didnt get her interview till end of March for April, similar stats as mine, and was put on waiting list.
I know they have a high wait list movement, I just want an interview 🙁

here is what i wanted to send in a PM to you, but your box is full.

_________
hi there,

i was in your exact same position at wayne state last year. i finally got a letter to interview in mid march (maybe it was the end of march). i got waitlisted, but never got into wayne. dont give up, though...they interview well into april, as i understand it.

woudl you mind if i asked you to share your stats? have you heard from any other schools?

hope to hear from you soon,
thomas

Hey thanks, well the downfall of my application is my MCAT score and as it looks now, I'm deciding to retake the Aug MCAT, I'm finishing up my masters in epidemiology, finished undergrad in .
2001, in microbiology. A ton of ECs, and some good LORs
I went to MSU for undergrad, and grad and really want to go to Wayne St.
Oh well thats life, thanks 4 the response 🙂

I too am a MI resident. I was initially put on hold for interview back in September and got the invitation in late October/early Nov. Interviewed there the monday after Thanksgiving. Got waitlisted in early January. Dont give up hope!! Good Luck!!

Hey thanks, hopefully there is still hope.
Wish u the best of luck, at least 1 acceptance should come of the 5 waitlists

Hi! I also was on hold for an interview since Nov or so...I got an interview invite last week for Mar 11th...I think my low MCAT score is what held me up as well....but don't worry too much, I think they are finally getting to people with "lower" stats (aka MCAT) and you'll likely hear something soon! 🙂

Hey congratulations, thats great news!!!
At least I'm glad to know they are not abandoning people on hold
Goodluck on your interview on Tuesday, keep us posted!!

congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne is weird with their "holds" for interviews and their waistlist... my best friend had both... and now he's on their "top waitlist position" whatever that is. Good luck!

yeah cause MSU and U of M don't do that
Well glad to know others have been thru this situation, misery loves company 🙂

Those of you who have gotten late interviews from wayne state, what kind of mcat scores do you have? I ask because I too am a Michigan resident and wayne state is going to be my top choice when I apply this summer. My application is pretty solid but I'm not sure what's going to happen on this april mcat. Could any of you who are in this situation (of interviewing in the winter semester) just PM me with your scores? I do really appreciate it. I feel like it would help me immensely knowing what to shoot for. Thanks.🙂

Just aim 4 as high as possible
U wouldnt want to be in my shoes trust me 🙁

I knew that was what you were going to say. Oh well, I had to try....

THanks for the congrats everybody! I'm really looking forward to the interview Tues as it is my first where I feel I won't be as nervous and where they can "sell me the school" instead of the other way around, as I got an acceptance from MSU CHM back in Dec 🙂 Yeah, it seemed like they were pretty much ignoring me for awhile, but I think they are finally starting to move down their piles of apps...For those wondering, my MCAT was 26P (damn that 7 in PS !!) I think my GPA is slightly above avg (maybe 3.8 and 3.6 science?) I'll be sure to update on the situation following the interview Tues..Goodluck to everybody!

Being a little familiar with Wayne's admission process, I know they have a four quarters of admission and the last one is Mar 26, when the last "quarter" of interviewees recieve their outcomes. Maybe Wayne does some more interviews after that for waitlist positions, but the first part I know for sure.

Naah, its Dec, Jan, March and April. The last one being in April.
My friend last yr got hers in April. Spoke to someone on admissions committee and theya re sending invites till right around end of the month, and they are interviewing till end of April

BUMP

STill waiting, should be anyday now, at least for an interview or rejection. The earlier the better, tryin to find out if I'll retake the mCAT in August, too late 4 April now 🙄

Lotanna...dont give up hope just yet!! When I got my invite to interview, the day they gave me was 2 weeks from the date on letter...so if you get it in the next week or so you're still golden!!
hang in there!!! and GOOD LUCK!!

Also, does anyone know if they continually review the apps they've WL-ed, or do they wait until May 15 like everyone else??Thanks, Spin😀

Lotanna, sorry, you are right. I knew there was four quarters, I just mistook the dates. Best of luck.

thanks e-spin 🙂
I think they just wait till May 15, but then again i also know people who got off the waiting list in June and July.
Any luck from your other 4 schls? I'm sure u'll get at least one acceptance from the WLs

If wayne is my first choice school, would anybody recommend that I apply early decision with a 30, ~3.85? I should have decent letters and have worked in a hospital for a couple of years. What do you guys think? (I'm an in-state applicant)

If u absolutely want to go to WSU, then I dont see why not. Your stats are pretty good, so u should be in good shape.
Did u get my message regarding the list?

I appreciate the offer...but someone else was kind enough to have sent me the match-list for 2002. I love Michigan State and all but I am truthfully not that interested in primary care medicine. I will probably still apply there but there are quite a few out-of-state schools that I'll pursue more enthusiastically than msu...in spite of the fact that being around for basketball and football games would be awesome.
