You know what, I'm not even sure how fair it is to fight back against someone whose main statement in all his responses is "let the games begin." After all, they began a while back. And Yosh started it, I'm just going to be the one to finish it.

Isn't that right Farmer Yosh? Did you have to get up extra early to feed and milk the cows in your bib overalls?
I was even going to wait until noon, but whatever.
As for my hats, they know where their loyalty belongs. They will join their missing comrade in my possession again someday.
 
Unfortunately we lost the volleyball game we played against the MS II today at lunch.

I don't think many MS I knew about this anyway, for we only had two players in the beginning.

Seemed liked all the MS II came out either to play or to cheer the players on at least.

Eventually we did get a few more MS I to join in.

Semifinal's tomorrow at noon.

I guess Yosh came after I left.

COMP is still COMP......The University is called Western University of Health Sciences....and the osteopathic medicine program is College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific....we are just one of a few different colleges on campus...we also have a PharmD program, PA, Physical Therapy, and Graduate Nurse Practitioner colleges, etc. There are a couple other smaller programs too...
 
I must have just missed you...I stopped by the game...ran into Mel(quiet Mel) that is....and hung out with her, robb, and the infamous SammyK....

We were discussinng "asking if we seek permission before kissing someome...." Info might come in handy for tonight's fiesta!!

Don't quite feel like studying now, for the weather's so nice and temptation of watching this blockbuster movie that's sitting on my desk is so so strong. 😀

Anyway, my laptop's in with the IT people. Don't quite know what's going to happen.

That was definitely a party last night.
Innerpower, one of our colleagues managed to take quite a few pics (more like 200) and posted it on a communities website. I won't mention it here cuz that'll mean everyone will see many of us in a really different physical and mental state, but I'll give you the address in class.
So Yosh, did you have to "ask" permission before making any moves last night? 🙂
SammyK, I loved the sofa-matching pants. Too bad I can remember much more after having a few of Mel's so-called "specialty" drinks.

Since you asked and all...instead of "requesting permission to land"...I took a different approach....I "radioed" in to ground control(aka the unsuspecting female)and announced my intention...and proceeded with the "attack"....

which, might I add...was met with little to no resistance by the opposing forces..perhaps a little struggle because others were around....but the offering of the "John Love" is seldom...and I do mean seldom rebuked!!!!

I do appreciate your concern....I am surprised you even noticed me...having your "hands full" and all...Mr. PDA!!!

Go study biochem.....

Yosh,

I had a good time partying the other night, I can't believe I was able to wake up at 5:45a the next day to go to a Surgical Conference in Palm Desert. Thank god I didn't drive b/c I wasn't feeling good at all the whole way up.

Anyway, the party was good, it was nice to see students from other disciplines. I was disappointed to see the low 2nd year turnout. Oh well, maybe they'll all show up for the Halloween Party.

Well, just one question what does, "Why are people advertising what is not for sale??" mean? Maybe I just don't know my New York lingo very well, be sure to interpret that when I see you in OMM.

What's up with YOSH2? What happened to the original Yosh? Yeah I am not expecting a good average for this exam.. just put it behind us and move on though.
 
Apparently we seem to have an imposter on our hands....hmmm....I am not sure whether to be flattered or scared...

Speaking of keeping track of personal belongings...Yosh, how's that wallet going for you? We could invest some class funds in getting you a chain to keep better track of it. Or we could just get you a purse...

If anyone ever is looking for somewhere to hang out at any given time, I suggest Yosh's. They apparently embrace an open door policy-no keys required.

Also, olde? Now we are using the king's English....I suppose you spell color colour?

I finally played you the other day, innerpower.. didn't I?

Physio was interesting.. hopefully I didn't fall asleep in the middle of the test.

Kiick.. that Q&A session with him was rather interesting. I'll have to ponder that.. I'm beginning to understand his personality more now. I think I've been taught by plenty of other profs like him.. but he's sort of a contrast to other profs at this school.

-- Any interviewees/potential DO students have any more questions or need any help regarding COMP?
 
i get a kiick out of watching the interviewees run thought the gauntlet, um i mean tour, of COMP. especially in the morning OMM labs.

Hey melancholy or anyone,

Any advice for interview at COMP? How can I prepare myself? i just got a call tuesday morn and got interview for thursday morn. cuttin' it pretty close, but i've been waiting too long to wait any longer. Were there any Q's on HMO/PPO? thanks.

I didn't get any questions about HMO's, PPO's, etc. They just want to get to know you personally more than anything. I guess it wouldn't hurt to prepare for a question like that, but I would be surprised if they asked it.

in my interview they picked out certain aspects from my personal statements and from my recomendation letters. i just elaborated on some of those points...oh and we talked about why i was so willing to leave NY, or the northeast for that matter.

it might be a good idea to keep up with current events in medicine, the world, sports, etc. but the key thing is to have fun. oh, another thing, ask lots of questions and have a few laughs with the interviewers.

just relax, you'll get challenging questions, but their focus is how comfortable you feel and how well you communicate.

Wasn't the high noon sprinting show-down enough for you Pyo? From where does all this rage and aggression come?

Where'd you guys go for the driving range anyway? I should get out and make sure I can hit the ball before I go to play a round.

And yes, where were you when we played softball? If you doubt the aerobic nature, play with 6 people per team and you'll get a work out.
 
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! softball and aerobic? isn't that like an oxymoron or something!!!!

driving range is on indian hill blvd, north of foothill. it's open till 8pm and large buckets go for about 5 bucks or so. enough to make your hands raw.

Yosh- Yeah pelvic diaphragm was sort of interesting. That will take a little more trust and understanding... and patience too. This OMM final is going to kick some butt (probably ours) with all the things they could test us on. Keeping up is probably a good thing. I could almost consider bringing my OMM table to the hotel to practice at night in SD.. haha.

Pyoj- paintball sounds good. I used to play here and there, but I think most of my camo stuff is back home.. damn. I'll cope I guess.. that's definitely a rush and it should be nice since it's in November in California.

Haha to softball.. it maybe fun, but doesn't seem like aerobic exercise. 😛

SammyK- Driving range is definitely fun... you gotta go sometime. Just be sure to bring a glove or else you'll get hands like Pyoj.

RobbC- I second paintball. Btw, nice job in microbio lab on Friday.

rickmyster78- Sorry I didn't end up responding to this before your interview. I'll leave what I was going to write though for anyone else who is interviewing...

I agree with what everyone else said. I didn't get any questions on HMO's, but I wouldn't put it past any interview committee to ask a currents event/healthcare field question. I was asked about a problem I forsaw in future medicine. They do ask questions about your secondary file/application so definitely be able to talk about yourself! I think they do pay attention to how you interact and how comfortable you are in dealing with certain questions that they might throw out. In the end, don't get flustered by a hard question.. just be honest because that sort of thing shows through. Good luck!

Reading about paintballing, huh? My high school friends were all into that.. they started up a club when they got to college, but that was way too gung-ho for me. I just know that playing in the hot, wet, and humid summertimes in Texas really makes you appreciate drier, cooler terrain for crawling around in the bushes.

I recall going to the US Marine Corp Recruitment Depot in SD a few times.. on the bathroom door, the majority of flyers are about paintball games coming up. I guess you gotta let off some steam shooting someone..
