Usually it's 2 weeks for the notification especially in the beginning of the year when there's tons of seats, but perhaps the head cheese *someone of the acceptance board* wasn't in town and is delaying decisions. Near the beginning the acceptance rate is really high and the end is kind of low. That's with all schools though.
 
How long was it between when AACOMAS sent out your app and when you received the secondary email?

I got an interview for Western! Natalie emailed me yesterday to say my file was complete. Today, I got an email from Ana saying I was granted an interview! They work fast! I think they reviewed my file before receiving the letter of recommendation, because I sent in my secondary loong ago and they just received my letters yesterday! Either way, I am thrilled to interview in October! This is my top choice! Hopefully I get one for Touro too! Hope to see some of you there!

shanannigans! you've been preparing your whole life! It will be a piece of cake, they really just want to konw who you are as a person and if you are able to take to another human being. No need to stress! Just know yourself and your responses will come naturally. They arent trying to trick you.

Hey Everyone,

Congrats to all the secondaries, interviews and acceptances!

Anyone interviewing tomorrow? For those who have, any specific advice? My nerves are all frayed and i'm biting my nails, haha bad memories again from last cycle.

PS- Shoutout to JWLuiza, good to see you again! Hopefully we will be successful this cycle.

haha you're right ryserr21! But I'm not too great with interviews so I just meant that I want to prepare mentally. Also, I must read up more on Western and think of questions to ask. And probably get a haircut, shave..the little things that will seal the deal. 😉

I'm glad I can just drive to Western U (about 40 miles from my home) so no hassle there. Is anyone interviewing that day too?

Right back at ya! I got my fourth interview invite today. I doubled last year's count!!!!
 
So from what I remember of the adcom's instructions, they should have mailed out decision letters by now. Has anyone gotten anything?

NO! 😡

I called and asked if they had mailed out decisions yet and she said yes they have. Since i'm only 20 miles frm the school I'm hoping it doesn take too long to get here, and I receive notification in the mail today or tomorrow!!!

Why cant they just use email like normal people in the 21st century!!?!?

I am really happy for everyone that got interviews/acceptances. Western is a great school and I really hope to be joining you.

I wish AACOMAS would get me verified so I could get in the game! AHHHH!:scared:

Assuming I get in....I think we should have a Western SDN gathering with beverages and whatnot next summer.

I know exactly how you feel!!! It's been 5.5 weeks since I submitted to AACOMAS and no verification, it's killing me!!!!!! I knew the time to verification would be closer to 6 weeks, but it looks like they're really taking it all the way...:scared::scared::scared:

hoang, like ryserr said, western is very stress free--no tricky questions or anything. Sure, everyone should prepare to a certain degree, but i think you're doing yourself a disfavor by thinking about it a little too much. My advice to you would be #1 relax, #2 stop thinking that you interview badly, and #3 be confident in yourself and your interview day will be beautiful. One thing i like to do before my interview is fill my mind with positive thoughts. i'd say to myself in my mind, i have worked very hard for this moment, my interview day will be wonderful, my interviewer will love me, i will get into medical school, and i will make a wonderful doctor. Positive thinking translates to confidence and peace of mind in the interview, and with the added benefit that western doesn't throw any curve balls, you should be well on your way in man. hope this helps, and best of luck.
 
I loved Western! After my interview, it quickly went to one of my top choices!!!!!!! Its only been 1 week since the interview and I'm dying to know if I got accepted!
 
I am so excited that I was referred to this site- it's great to see the process timeline of other applicants and know that I am not the only person feeling really anxious about this process! I submitted my secondary application to Western last Friday, but am still waiting for my letters of recommendation to be submitted. I live about 20 minutes from the campus, have attended the information session, and have Western at the top of my list!

Congratulations to everyone with their interviews and acceptances- I hope that one day, I get to post that too! 🙂

the 2 week wait for decision notification is like 10X worse than the 1 month wait for MCAT scores. :scared:

still nothin in the mail for me.

Don't worry- I submitted my application at the beginning of July and it didn't get verified until the second week in August, so around the same amount of time. Once it went through, the supplemental application came out around a week and a half later, so it speeds up a little! 🙂

The nearly 5 weeks I've been waiting since my secondary has been complete is pretty bad too. No invite email or rejection letter for me.:scared:
 
For those who interviewed on 9/11, letters went out today (according to Natalie). Good luck everyone.

I interviewed on 9/11. I was surprised they actually called because I thought it would be a horrific 2 week wait until I found out!
 
I also got the phone call from the Dean yesterday. But, I initially called them about the committee's decision since I was holding another acceptance. Natalie said that the Dean was holding on to several files (she could not find mine). Why...I don't know..??
 
Western has just recently become one of my top choices as well. I hosted an admissions recruiter from school at a recent club event and discovered that I would probably fit in well at the school. Hopefully I still have a shot for an interview. Would really love to go. Plus my fiancee is in law school here in LA and my sister just moved out here to live with us. It would be nice to stay in Southern California.
 
Has anyone else been complete including LORs for a while (5 weeks for me) and not receive an invite or rejection? Basically no news at all?? This is driving me nuts!

Yup. Two or three times. All they can tell me is that the committee hasn't sent back a decision. I have also sent a few emails with similar responses. I called on Wednesday but I think I'm going to give it one more shot today.😕

If I don't hear back by the end of next week would it be a bad idea to just stop by the school and ask them in person? Any other school I wouldn't even consider doing that but since it is my #1 choice...

I don't see how that would hurt....especially if you had a pink box full of pastries. 👍

On second thought, the pastries may be a bit over the top. 👎

This sounds like overkill to me. Give them a few weeks and if you still hear nothing maybe send an update letter and include how badly you want to go to Western. Calling every few days isn't going to make the committee speed up, but it may annoy the office employees.

I figured. That's why I decided not to call them today. I'll just wait till I get back from my interviews next week.

i coulnt take the wait anymore! I called western to make sure they had my address right (there was a little confusion about this before), and i was told that they sent out my letter on 9/17...which means that it should have been here by today probably or AT LEAST by tomorrow. I'm only about 20 miles away from the school....i shoulda just drove over and picked it up myself!!

If it doesnt come by tomorrow, then I wont see it til Wed cuz i'm gonna be out of town until then, and I'll surely explode with anticipation by that point.

Phew. I'm done venting.

if it makes you feel any better , i'm in the same situation..i was eagerly waiting the packet today in the mail, but it never came..i'm leaving monday night for another interview too...so if it's later than that, i wont see it till i come back as well

You already know you are accepted!!!!!!! Thats totally different. I'm in the dark here, anxiously waiting so that i can withdraw from a lot of schools that I will no longer need to continue my app with 😡
 
But since zetabruin is also in socal you know that it isn't just your letter that hasn't arrived. I bet it will be in your mailbox tomorrow. Hang in there just one more day.👍
 
I live in Westwood and I got my letter today. It comes in a small envelope with two sheets of paper inside. Hopefully you guys get it tomorrow.
