Hi John87,

Yes, I rescheduled my Dec 12 interview to Jan 30. I finally received the confirmation call yesterday. You know how Western gave out calls instead of emails and I almost missed it. I was a little worried since I'll be out of town for days.

Did anyone get an interview with a UC cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a B.S. in a science major?
 
Anyone know if still waiting is worse than receiving a "hold letter" before interview? Or should the "hold letter" be called a politically correct rejection letter?
 
When did you get your email saying your app was up for evaluation? I'm so on edge lol
 
can anyone who had an interview say what the format for the interview is like? like is there a tour, how many interviewers, etc.

I interviewed on 12/12: Everyone is split into different groups so you switch off on what you are doing, i.e group A interviews while group B does the writing sample. But during the day you will have:

1) Orientation/Welcome speech

2) Interview - you and two interviewers. (a faculty member and a student/another pharmacist). I had a manager from one of the chain stores.

3) Writing sample

4) Info session (when you will be notified, what the different positions you can be placed in after interview, what to do once accepted)

5) Financial aid session (tuition, other expenses, loans you can qualify for)

6) Tour (it was raining that day so we only toured the "pharmacy" building. Although the building was, at the time, currently shared with the DO students). If it isn't raining on your interview day, you guys will probably get to tour the campus.

About 1 week is the interview. The waiting is making me nervous...

I got a call from them on Friday morning around 9:30 am regarding the Jan 30th interview. But I cancelled my interview, so hopefully someone else will get the spot. Good luck to everyone!
 
Western is my number 1 choice of school. Wish I can take your place... 😉

Hi everyone, I have an interview Jan. 30 at 9:30am (Suppl. submitted Oct. 1) and I'm driving there from San Diego. If anyone is in the area or along the 15 and needs a ride let me know!

Yay! I got an interview too for Jan 30th, 7:30 am. I am at Santa Barbara right now, going back to home in OC on Friday then drive up on Saturday morning!

To mvpharm: I am from SD but recently moved OC, I wish I could of share ride with you, I still love SD more

emc, I missed the interview call around noon today because I was in class. So I called them right back but it was voicemail so I left voicemail. Then she called me back again around 2ish when I am in my other class, but this time I am prepared so I went outside and got the call. She said she will send a confirmation email out soon. Good luck to you all too

I have a UC gpa of 3.0, but a history major and I just got the interview call today. 🙂

I wouldn't call the hold letter a PC rejection letter. I got the hold letter and even though they said they wouldn't review my app until after Feb 27th, I got a call today for an interview this Saturday.
 
Does anyone know how many interviews Western has had already?

When did you submit your applications? Thanks. I'm still waiting for an interview. 🙁
 
I haven't heard from them. i guess this means I'm rejected.

Why is it always when I email schools they say "currently reviewing your application" only to reject me like months later.

it doesn't take this long to review an application. most schools that offer me interview invitations got back to me within 2 weeks of submitting my supps.

Why won't they just let you know already. they just have to say
"hold"
"interview invite"
"reject"

if they are seriously considering you and just want to compare you to other applicants they will put you on hold and tell you, NOT make you wait in silence for months only to let you konw you're rejected months later.

why play this waiting game. its so frustrating.

people, if you haven't heard from them and its been nearly over two months, start moving on.

Hey KMIMSM

I'm on the same boat as you. Submitted my application long time ago but all I heard was that my application was processing. I really hope that Western still send out invitation for Jan 30. 🙂
 
First time poster, long time lurker... just wanted to add my experience so far, or well the beginning of a new experience for me. I just got my call on Monday this week, around 12:30PM around my lunch time after I just got out of work, so I missed it. Called em back around 1:30PM, and got a schedule for an interview for Jan 30. Very suprising to me, I figured my average stats, and somewhat late application (Mid Oct) would have killed any of my chances for Fall 2010 to any schools I applied to. To my suprised I also got an email from LLU yesterday for an interview next week. I'm grateful for these opportunities, but they landed smack dab in the middle of my first wave of midterms... Anyways good luck to everyone here! 😀
 
I would like to congratulate SDreamer on getting an interview at Western and LLU. STill waiting for those two schools but especially no response from LLU. 🙂

I submitted mine on the deadline 11/2, I guess I am lucky to get an interview but don't give up, I am sure you all have a chance. My GPA is below their average

Thanks! I don't feel prepared for this, like everything is just happening so quickly for me, didn't expect any of this to happen. I hope things go in the right direction and others get their chance for an opportunity as well. So again, good luck to everyone waiting, and who got an interview, and those also accepted to Western University.
 
Hi everyone! I just had a great time at the interview today meeting new people and learning more about Western! The interview was very laid back and the students, staff, EVERYONE was so sincere and welcoming. Overall, an amazing experience. I came home and celebrated with a feast! (nom nom)
 
What did everybody else think of the interview last Sat? I thought it went well, but I don't want to jinx myself. Now to wait 2-3 weeks...
 
I was too nervous for some reason, so I know I didn't do well. I found people were really nice there and friendly overall.
 
You guys waiting for the acceptance letter while I wait for the interview letter. Sigh...this is making me just as nervous as you guys. 👍
 
Has anyone received a rejection letter? Do they send them out at the end of the cycle? I haven't heard anything from them and am v. worried. 🙁
