I am waiting for USC. But Western is definitely one of my top choices and I am grateful for the acceptance.

Dont worry. Unlike USC, Western does not mail out all the acceptances on one day. I am sure you will hear from them soon. Hope you can get in too.

Quick question: To all of those who have been accepted from the 3/19 interview.... Did any of you have Dr. Scott as your interviewer? Thx.

I'm asking because I'm wondering if it goes by which interviewers have turned in their reports first... I want to see if he has already turned in his reports from the 3/19 interview.

From previous acceptances from previous interviews, it seems like everyone who has been accepted gets their email on the same day. Those on hold will be receiving letters via snail mail. But I wouldn't lose hope if I were you. Nothing is official until you hear from them and if you were placed on hold, there will be movement in the next few weeks. So hang in there!

So in other words, all who have been accepted have already heard, and that's it, right? No one thinks there is going to be another group of acceptances sent out today or next week?

Don't give up. I spoke to 3 students at Western U during my interviews and they were pulled from the waiting list and according to them, nearly half of the students were. Beside, Danielle might still be sending out email. You should try giving her a call and ask if all the accepted candidates have been notified.

If they are doing it the same way as previous interviews, then no more acceptances should be sent out. The next batch of acceptances should be from the hold list. Also, you were in the last interview date, so I'm not sure if they will even put you on hold or just go ahead and review everyone again who was not offered an acceptance and send out waitlists and another batch of acceptances.

As other people have posted in the past, ~50% of previous classes were pulled from the waitlist. I know it's hard but just sit tight until you hear something from Western. :xf::luck:

Just called and spoke to Danielle. She said that she received a list of names yesterday (around ~20 she says) and those are the people who she emailed with acceptances yesterday. She said it is very hard to tell if there will be another batch of acceptances, but also mentioned that we should know by early next week..(monday or tuesday). She also noted that EVERYONE should hear back about their status by the end of next week.

By the end of next week, EVERYONE will either receive an acceptance, alternative, or rejection. So let's keep our fingers crossed. :xf::xf:
 
As someone who has been in the last interview batch last year, I can tell you it went like this: you either got accepted, wait-listed, or not get in; no hold. After the last batch of acceptances, which apparently was today, they go back to the holds from the prior three batches; which sounds like a decent amount of ppl actually from what 1st year students were saying on interview day.

I have seen every status except accepted, so I know how you all feel, hang in there....well, I dunno how the accepted feel :laugh: ... 🙁.....😳:xf:

The interviewers are required to turn in their reports right after they finish interviewing so you don't have to worry about that.
 
This is a joke, how long would it take for them to select people from hold list??!!
last time I called they said you will hear at the end of march, its already April and NOTHING yet🙁

so does this mean that only 20 acceptances have been given out and now everyone else will receive hold/rejects/alts?

I think only 20 acceptances have been given out for the last interview date. The rest of the interviewees from all 4 interview sessions who were not given an acceptance will be hearing something soon and will be given the status of accept, waitlist or non-accept.
 
hmm, i think there were 60 seats left prior to the acceptances danielle had sent out.. If she sent out ~20, there should be ~40 seats left? 😕

Potentially more than than 40 because those 20 acceptances sent out may chose to attend other schools. After those 20 either reject or accepts the offer, the numbers will change and they'll pull more off the waiting list / hold. Then they send out 40+ more acceptances and depending on the numbers of those 40+ people who decides to attend, they'll keep on pulling until the number is 120.

I was in the march interview...hopefully some good news coming :xf::xf:.. this wait game is killin' me
 
First time poster here. I have been waiting since December to hear some good news from western. I really want to go here, but I'm starting to feel like I'm being stringed along with a carrot at the end. With their interview so "laid back", I don't know how to judge my performance. I don't know at all where I stand because there's no ranks for the hold/waiting list. Then there's the hearsay about so many people getting off the waiting list that brings my hopes sky high, but I'm starting to feel like just a number (the 100+ soon-to-be alternate). anyone else feeling the same way?

Don't worry, same feeling here, my interview was also December and i haven't heard anything yet except a hold letter👎

I just called Western U today and was told that we will get our status next week. Hopefully, we'll get some good news :xf::xf::xf:

Seriously right? Could even be another long agonizing week too.. since they told me we would find out by yesterday, I don't even know what to expect anymore.. Did they say early next week, or late next week, or just next week?
 
Just got off the phone with admissions. She was pretty candid with me, if you havent gotten an e-mail already your not in. Alternate/reject letters coming the rest of the week. 🙁
 
Has anyone who was on hold before gotten an email from western yet? I just called Elaine and she said my status was mailed out this morning. I wonder if they're doing the same as before where email was for acceptance and then mail for non-accepted people? they did that for all decisions right after the interview but I wonder if they'll do the same for second decisions for hold?

Now I'm extremely nervous...😱

Yeah it's confusing... I think people who got accepted from the very last interview already got their emails of acceptance. People who didn't get accepted from the last interview will probably get a letter in mail this week as rejection, alternate or waitlist. They won't do hold for the last interview because there's no more interviews.

Question is... for people who were on hold from all the previous interview sessions, has anyone heard back? They said they have mailed out some status notifications this morning include mine. But what I'm scared about is that email= acceptance and snail mail= no acceptance? It's been that way so far after all interviews.. so has anyone from hold gotten an email for acceptance?

I called and asked today as well. I was told that she couldn't tell how they sent the status to students. Mine was sent today too. Hope it is not just another wait letter or reject🙁(((

Some on hold from previous interviews got accepted almost 2 week ago also. If you're accepted, you'd get an email/phone call first, then snail mail. If alternate or rejected, just snail mail. It was like that last year.

The best bet right now is to wait for people to give up their spots. Aren't they given two weeks to decide and pay the deposit? Maybe more spots will open next week?
 
Why do I not believe that "more than half the class" got in from the hold list? Call me a skeptic!!!
 
I asked if the emails were already sent out for acceptance and she said that some have been this morning and rest will be sent this afternoon... so if no email today, I will be waiting for the reject/alternate
 
I'm feeling really bummed out right now. Interviewed in february and was put on hold. I didn't receive an email.
 
It's gonna be a rough couple of Weeks, But I hope that all of you well deserving individuals will hear some good news soon! I already know like 4 people alone from my class who are planning to give up their seats for the accelerated programs at UOP, Pacific and USN and their top choice, LOMA LINDA/USC. These are just the people I happened to ask from my biochemistry class, So you could DEFINITELY imagine OTHERS just like them!

The interviewing process are pretty much OVER for many TOP choice schools, NOW we're basically waiting for People ( the students) to make up their minds about which school to attend. The sooner minds are made UP, the sooner there'll be Rooms for more people. :luck:

I live very close to Western. I just got the alternate update in the mail today. 2 pages!
 
I received my "alternate" letter from WesternU today. I hope that I will be pulled off the alternate list before 8/12 since Western is my first choice school. Keep my fingers crossed!:xf:

Is it just me or does it seem that anyone who did not get accepted got on the alternate list? Did anyone get straight up rejected? Or does anyone know from past years if they reject people right away? Or do they just keep everyone who interviewed on the alternate list until August?
 
I was in January interview and got my alternate letter today...
one of my friends got her rejection letter yesterday.
this is really not convenient ,,, we have to sit and wait for them til august 😎
 
Here comes another "Alternate". I wonder how many people do they put in alternate. I am dying inside.🙁(((🙂scared:
