Do you have a better chance of getting in if you are on alternate or on hold? Which list would you rather be on?

There is no such thing as being on hold at this point. I don't know about last year, but the year before that, someone called and was told there were over 100 alternates waiting for the few declined spots. that's bad news!!! Good luck to all!!

Like someone has mentioned before, you're pretty much on alternate or rejected by now. Those who were put on hold were either given an acceptance, non-accept or alternate.

I talked to Michelle a few days ago. She said that last year, there were a total of 23 alternates. Out of those, 4 were given seats, but I don't believe here. I feel like there are at least 100 alternates.

I'm an alternate too, and just paid a deposit to a school I don't really want to go to.

Although some applicants were placed as an alternate, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will accept that alternate spot. I declined my spot and I'm sure others have too.

I wanted to post on this forum but I wasn't sure how to (so do people usually just click the quick reply on the latest post?). Yeah it's the same thing. There's only a difference if you're placed on hold but at this point no one should be placed on hold for Western.

Not sure when they start pulling, but they pull as late as Friday of orientation week... That's more of a question for an admission counselor...

I was thinking more a long the lines of questions abt my experience there, clubs, profs, organizations, housing etc...

LoL I think it would've been more awesome if I didn't already get into my top choice but it was still pretty surprising considering I didn't fill out the request to be placed on the waitlist. But then again, I didn't decline it either so I guess they assumed I still wanted to be considered. But oh well, I just sent the paper to decline my seat so hang tight everyone!
