There seems to be quite a few people on this site on Western's waitlist but I don't see any one listing Western in the attendance thread. If you wouldn't mind coming forward is there anyone on this board planning on attending in the fall? Or did everyone who was accepted there for this fall who is on the board turn them down? Or is everyone who put in their deposit on another waitlist? Just idle curiosity. I really liked their program and it seems odd to me that no one is listed on the attendance thread... Thanks!
Marie

Hey Marie,

I was wondering about that as well. Though I did turn them down, it wasn't because I disliked the program. I actually was very impressed, but I wanted to be closer to my family and I was lucky enough to get into a really good school that was also close to home. I really hope that you get good news in the next couple of weeks as other wait lists move and people start to shift around. It seems like a great program!

I too was accepted to westernu and turned them down. Not because I didn't like the program (i thought it was kind of cool actually). But because I got accepted to my state school and the cost of western is much, much higher.

I was accepted and turned down their offer a couple weeks before the April 17th deadline.

one of my classmates did get accepted. i'm happy for her, but upset it wasn't me!!!! i know that you can set up a conference in june to speak with the dean and the administration on why you weren't accepted. i know its frustrating cause i'm in the same boat, but we need to realize that everything happens for a reason. did you get into any other vet school, bubbles525???

I got accepted and am planning on attending.. The reason I didn't post on the attendance board is because I thought it was just for people who got multiple acceptances and were choosing between them.. Western was my only acceptance so I didn't post.. Good luck to all those on the waitlist, hopefully some Western acceptances will get off another waitlist and make some more room for you guys because we all know that you deserve it! 👍

I was accepted and will be attending. Sorry for the late post. Good luck to everyone still waiting - hang in there!!

What made you choose? I got accepted and turned in the deposit... they also offered me a recruitment scholarship. But I am trippin out because I was accepted to Colorado state and got a scholarship there too. I went there this last weekend....and the school was BOMB! I enjoy LA life...just hesitant about western. How did ya'll make up your minds? What things did you like about Western that you think other schools don't have?

Congrats. Both schools are great. I really liked the curriculum at Western U, especially PBL. I prefer the interaction that takes place in a PBL class as opposed to auditorium classes. The other selling points for me were the reverence for life policy and lots of hands-on experience. I visited Western U and actually moved from the Bay area to Southern CA before I even sent in my application. I was convinced after meeting with the professors and sitting in on an actual PBL class that this was the school for me. I am basically a big fan of the learning environment and feel it's more indicative of the way you will have to find info once you are a practicing DVM. However, I think you will be happy at either school, you just have to choose the one that "feels" right for you!
Good luck!!
