i just called and they said the same thing. i asked if they’re still conducting interviews and she said it hasn’t been decided on whether it’s closed or not. WOW i’m annoyed

wow that’s extremely frustrating. I interviewed three months ago and have been mentally holding on to this week being decision week… they already are a school that gets back later than many others, i hope they are just trying ti cover themselves and it actually won’t be another three weeks

that’s what i’m hoping for, that they’re just overestimating it so we don’t sit and wait for a week.

I really hope it won’t be THAT late. there aren’t much time left for me to decide if I’ll renew my lease for next year or not

I also just called admissions and asked if there were at least any acceptances/alternates/rejections that they had already decided on that they could release before the preview day so that we would at least have an idea of who's been accepted/rejected and how many seats would be left open (based on how many people were to have been accepted) but she pretty much gave me the same answer that most likely they wouldn't be able to release any type of decision at all before preview day...which is extremely frustrating I think for most of us because now the question is whether or not you got to preview day at the risk that you don't get in. What is everyone else planning on doing?

I'm thinking that I may just take the possible L and go because my boyfriend and I had already planned a trip to LA to go to Universal and Disneyland before they even announced preview day for that very same week but then that also means that I miss out on a big portion of my paycheck for taking the Saturday off.

do you live in/near cali??

This is extremely frustrating news. I tried to call, but was sent to voicemail. I sent an email to my advisor. These are life changing decisions we need to make, and they need to take into consideration our time in making these choices. My advisor wrote back and said 'expect an email regarding interview invitations and decisions to be sent out within 2-3 weeks' .. ??

Also in regards to preview day, if you can't go it doesn't mean you can't show your interest, not everybody can afford to fly out, and I understand if desire is decreased now with this news. I'm so frustrated with this school right now.

I won’t be attending the preview day in that case. I also don’t think going or not will affect the result

Wait.. interview invitations?! There’s no way they are still interviewing!! This is insane i interviewed almost 5 months ago lol. I just want to have enough time to decide what to do

Yeah, I was gonna say it would be highly unfair if preview day was factored into whether or not you get in, so I’m glad they’re not gonna factor that in. I’m also glad to hear that there’ll be more preview days! I think this one next weekend is going to be mostly for those who have offers at other schools and want to make a decisions before that 4/15 deadline to avoid paying two fees.

i don’t think it’s a matter of being factored in or not, it’s just a good chance for you to talk to faculty and make yourself known. a face to the name

I know !! My email didn't mention anything about interview invitations, I felt like it was a very generic response because I had mentioned specific questions, and emailed back immediately addressing the questions that had been ignored.. it doesn't make sense lol.

I emailed my admissions advisor. She said early to mid March for decisions and that preview day does not affect your decision what so ever. For those like me who are waiting to see if they get in first, there is another preview day going to be scheduled June or July time frame 🙂
June or July is way after the April decision deadline 😅

I'm from Southern California so I know what to expect as far as the location, but less than a month to visit and make a decision is tough. Some workplaces won't let you take time off with that short notice.

I’m in Colorado so I totally get it. It’ll be tough for me to get off with a short notice like that 😭
Expecting the worst but hoping for the best

I attended preview day about a year ago before I applied and it was basically an open house of all the colleges they offer. It was good material but more so for prospective students. We really only got a tour of the GP clinic they have on campus and the on campus dorms. I hope they have something different for admitted students but maybe not. June/July seems weird considering Orientation activities are mid August.

Anyone know what time of the day did they release the result last year?

Wasnt it today last year?
It was but I'm not expecting anything today since admissions has told many of us already that they need 2-3 more weeks to decide and that we most likely won't get anything before their preview day

Lol this extra waiting is making it even harder to concentrate on school and I'm trying to get extra ahead this week since I'll be out next week 😬 anyone else feeling distracted too?

Okay my admissions counselor said mid to late March, and to check spam folder as well! Sad about the wait but it’s almost over :,)

Hopefully mid March, late March is pretty late…especially since 4/15 is the deadline for decisions

I’ve sent over my fall 2022 transcripts 3 times now and it still is saying they are not in my portal. Can they make a decision without my fall 2022 transcripts?

Is anyone else pretty frustrated to be waiting so long? Like, Western is my top choice and it's my only chance at staying in CA- but I applied to over 20 other schools and I've heard back from each and every one- including stuff about dual degrees, scholarships etc. and I feel like we should've heard at least SOMETHING by now. But no admissions update, just a preview day email. Even my professors are asking if I've heard back yet and saying how it's weird I haven't from them. This is seriously stressful lol

I just wish they provided us with a timeline update instead of us having to reach out. I’ve also heard from several schools sending updates about how admissions is delayed but will be in contact soon. I at least appreciate being kept in the loop is the midst of all this waiting. The silence on their end is no fun 😭

I agree. Like I get things happen, but I've heard nothing from Western themselves- just what's been said here from people calling. If it's 3 weeks it'll almost be April before we hear back!!!

Current student here. Take a deep breath guys. The answer is coming soon. Just relax. You’ll know before 4/15. You’ll have your time to decide. Western is always one of the last ones to send out decisions.
