Morning, here are my stats:
  • GPA = 3.73, sGPA = 3.59

    • Volunteered 3 hrs/week at the Food Bank, on a pause because I'm using this semester to handle my 18 hour workload while studying for the MCAT
    • Volunteered with local elementary school's first grade class - worked on reading skills. Also currently paused for the semester.
  • Research:
    • RA in a lab for two semesters (8 hrs/week) before the lab was relocated to a different state
    • Currently RA in a lab at TAMUHSC's Neuroscience Dept (12 hrs/week)
    • Currently working with Aggie Research Scholars as a primary author for a manuscript that is being written (~10 hrs/week)

    • Team Leader of my manuscript team

Any advice for where to apply/what else to focus on to strengthen my application? I apply this cycle and I'm worried if my application is not strong enough or if I need to take a gap year to come back as a more competitive applicant. Thank you!

Bump! I am applying to all instate schools, but wondering if I should broaden my search to out of state schools as well, or to maybe include DO schools?

It's really hard to say without an MCAT score. As soon as someone gives you a list, it'll change when you get your scores back. It's hard enough giving advice with an MCAT.
