Currently I'm working a part-time job that pays about 250 every week after taxes. The reason why I switched over to part-time is because I'm going to driving school starting at the end of this month and I'm planning on taking one or two classes starting late June or beginning of July. For me to go back to school I need to pay off the same $500 I was talking about a few months ago. I put $50 in my savings account every week+$300 credit every month. I also have other miscellaneous income but not too much maybe $100 a month. I don't want to feel like I'm working for materialistic things. I want to work for something that will help me with my future. Some classes that will get you the clinical experience you need for medical school? I was thinking of a CPR class for patient transport.

I'm not sure that classes themselves will count as patient exposure (I can't think of any that would, anyways). Most CPR classes will probably use dummies. What you can do is take classes that allow you to get certified in order to get a job with more patient experience. EMT/paramedic, medical/psych techs, and STNAs come to mind.

Why not just volunteer in a clinic or a nursing home? It won't cost you anything (except opportunity cost for working + transportation) and will definitely count as patient exposure. You could also look into getting a scribing job or do secretarial work for a hospital/clinic, neither of which require certification.

Why wouldn't you just volunteer at a hospital?

What do you "search for" in order to find these kinds of jobs?

I had a hard time with this, like what are the positions even called?

Find out the name of hospital systems near you. Search online for those systems. Search their websites for jobs, and most have a refine-able search app, that should allow you to find what you're looking for. Otherwise just perusing down the list of job openings on their website until you find a position that has no major qualifications. Having an in, with someone there who could point you in the right direction. So basically, getting a job, just like any other job.

It kills me because you need this certification and that certification. I kind of give up on the whole medical school thing at this point. It's been a whole year I've been on SDN asking questions and I still haven't done anything that will further my future in the medical field. So I quit.

Volunteering on the side would have also sufficed. Action can only be attributed to yourself, no one else should have to motivate you, but I wish you luck on whatever it is that you go on to pursue!

I CANNOT volunteer at this moment. I need the money. I'm currently working a regular job unrelated to any sort of clinical experience to pay things off and survive.

Student loan for CNA class at community college. Money is available.
