Been studying all day for finals! No class to go to this week which is nice though. Getting all I can done for now because my roommates are giving me no choice but to indulge in some midnight shots later :laugh:

Sitting on the couch with my cat in my lap thinking how much i'll miss her when I go away to vet school 🙁 i've had her since I was like 12? Back to studying for finals...good luck to everyone else studying for their finals!

I'll be there tomorrow and Wednesday. Pharm/Tox exam on Wednesday and I'm on wildlife duty tomorrow. And the bread dough is rising as we speak. 😉
 
Last minute studying for my last bio test in an hour. If I get an A on the test and on the final on Friday, I might actually have a shot at an A in the class, or at least an A-.
 
I want an omlet(te?) soo bad and I have everything for the world's most perfect omlet(te?). I just don't want to make it and clean up after making it. But I think I'm going to cave because I'm starving and then I can procrastinate studying for pharm/tox even more than I already have. Yay 😀

I would love to but I live with my mom and dad and she has her whole life, she enjoys her daily bird watching outside on the deck and what not...I don't know how happy she would be moving her to a tiny apartment where she couldn't be outside anymore. Not to mention I would feel bad if I took her but not my other cat (they are always on each other's sh** list so those two in an apartment would not be pretty)

Just woke up a little bit ago... apparently I fell asleep at some point this afternoon (don't recall when) and just woke up around 40 minutes or so ago... And now time to go back to bed, hopefully the dizzy/nauseous feeling will be gone in the morning.

Or you passed out. Again. Were you on the floor? I don't fall asleep on the floor that often, I doubt many people do...

I used to actually. I love sitting and laying on the floor and when we moved into our second house here, we had really soft carpet. The first few weeks, I fell asleep on the floor every second or third day. :laugh:
 
Last night I made Good Life Choices: instead of doing chem reading, I made chocolate cookie dough. 😀

About to leave for a 6-hour Bio review. That better help me some for my final on Friday since this is supposed to be a free reading day. 🙄

That's awesome! :laugh: I never really liked pigs besides the cuteness of piglets before this semester, but after doing research with them I think they're pretty awesome. 🙂
 
Ya. We're having a really difficult birth on some important pigs, so it's not great. Of course on my first barn shift ever the important gilt starts farrowing.
 
But now we have colostrum for orphan piglets.

Trying (rather unsuccessfully) to prepare for tonight's Biochemistry lab final exam. Resisting the urge to crawl under the table and go to sleep.

I'm seriously contemplating asking a farm if I can work 1 or 2 days a week, just to get my fix. :laugh:

Through the vulva. Generally, sows are large enough for a female arm to go shoulder deep. With some gilts, it's impossible to even get your hand in there without first slowly 'stretching' them. (slowly insert hand until resistance, hold, then release. Repeat) Sometimes it takes 20 minutes to get them stretched enough to help the stuck piglet. (only do this if absolutely needed, i.e. she's been pushing for 30 minutes and still no piglet)

Some gilts are just impossible though, no matter what you try. We had to euth. one that couldn't pass her piglets and we couldn't help her. The piglets, (all but two) survived, so it wasn't a total loss.
 
My school is awesome. I just participated in an admissions video social experiment, and it was pretty fun.

weird that my arm is sore? holy eff, feeling contractions around my shoulder was a weird experience...

also, I am now shocked beyond belief that any animal ever in the history of the universe has successfully given birth to live progeny.

I am waiting in Princeton for my wife to get back. She is 45 minutes late, good thing I am in such a good mood nothing bothers me now. If she shows up drunk I will be ...... jealous?
