Sitting at school by myself because I couldn't get into a bar that was having a live band because my license was stolen. I tried to use an old one but it's expired so it didn't fly, despite having a school ID and credit cards on me. I'm more pissed about it because the bouncer was like "oh, I can't accept this tonight" than anything else.

That's annoying. For dealing with the cops yeah the expiration is an issue, but for getting into a bar, why does it matter? Proves your age regardless.

A lot of fakes come from expired IDs. That and they aren't valid any more.

👍
I went to an undergrad school where everyone used fakes, so a lot of people had friends/siblings old expired licenses. It was kind of stupid of me really. PA is pretty strict on stuff like that (some bars even scan your ID before letting you in) so I don't really know why I tried. I guess I kind of hoped that because it was an expired PA ID that it might work cause they're one of the harder ones to fake because the hologram is more complicated than a lot of other states. Meh.

Going to bed soon. Classes start back up tomorrow 👎, last semester before I graduate though 😀

I really don't mind school, I'm just ready for the "next step" and hoping the next step will be vet school this fall.

...stalking sdn.... Im practically addicted to sdn again!! lol

Just finished my first day back to school. It's my last first day of undergrad!

Now I'm reading "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" while on RA duty for the night.

I'm an RA, too! and I could use some good reading material while I'm in recovery from a foot surgery I had this morning- how do you like that book??

Its good so far! Interesting story line while still talking about scientific discoveries related to the story! We talked about the HeLa cells in my cell bio class last semester and my teacher let me borrow his copy of the book to read.

Was going to take my husky for a walk, but then it started pouring rain.

Made a milkshake instead.

Preparing to teach 3 75 minute sections in a row! Ahhhhh!!!!

Making a pot of tortilla soup from the mix my mom gave me as part of my Mexican Food Box of Awesome for Christmas. I should really start in on some of the classes, or put away my clothes or something productive...oh well.

In a food coma from all the chinese food my roommate, his bed buddy and I just ate. *stuffed*

I read that! It was the community reading book around my school last year. I actually got my dad the audiobook.

I have decided that I would like to get a small pet.

Trying to decide what though... I am thinking either a mouse, rat, hamster or guinea pig.

I have had hamsters before and know from experience that their personalities can be hit or miss... either good or bad. And I have had guinea pigs before and they are good little creatures, but I am afraid that I may not have quite enough space for them.

Any thoughts, opinions on any of these critters? Or any suggestions for a different type of small animal that would also make a good pet? 🙂

Get two rats! I 😍 rats! They're so awesome and smart!

I like all those little creatures. Hamsters are my favorite but I really like rats and guinea pigs, too. If you're worried about space I'd go with a hamster or mice. If you're open to something not furry then leopard geckos are nice. My friend has one and he is pretty cute. Their environment needs are more work, but feeding and grooming needs are relatively easy. They don't need a ton of space, either.

This is all true....however, if you want something to cuddle with and actually handle then they are not ideal. I have had one and while he was easy to care for and neat to watch, he wasn't good about handling. They can get scared, run, lose their tail or bite. Frankly, the bite is the worst part.

I would go with a rat!😍 They are super smart, can learn their name and do simple tricks. They like to cuddle and are very clean and rarely bite. The only down side is that they don't live super long.

Just my 0.02

Get a bunny! That's what I am getting. I have had a hedgehog and bunnies in the past, but none of the other small animals, so I may be biased, but I think bunnies are great!

I have heard great things about rats, too, though.

Really? You thought the bite was bad? I've been bitten by one and it just startled me more than anything.

My vote is for some piggies!!!. Mine's not in the largest cage, but I let him out to play in the rabbit's playpen. Sometimes he gets to hang with the rabbit but of course that's supervised.

I want a hedgie so badly but they're illegal in PA. =(

I don't have adequate room for a bunny nor would I be able to pick up the things that I would need to that the bunny could chew on and injure itself and while I would always watch it when it is out... it only takes half a second for something to go bad... So no bunny... just is not a good idea for where I live.

When has THAT ever stopped anyone? Hedgies are the best! GET ONE GET ONE GET ONE!

Ps. Hedgies are "illegal" in my state too...:naughty:

Yeah, they weren't illegal in NH when I was little, but they are where I live now, apparently. I'm not huge on exotic pets, but then I also think, they will never get back to where they should be, so it's better to give them what you know would be a good home then leave them with their seller...

Research may or not be in the works. And I know of some in the state. I guess my concern would be if something happened and it needed to go the vet.

Ratties!!!! Love, love, love them!! I think they're just like dogs but miniature twitchy little dogs (and also they're rodents).

This is probably what I am going to end up getting. 🙂

👍 😍

I'm listening to my polisci recording. I finally bought a voice recorder and it works very well. I can hear the speakers really clearly. Hopefully it'll help me as much as the podcasts in my bio class did last semester. It's nice to be able to listen to the lectures while I'm walking somewhere or driving (starting tomorrow, driving test in the afternoon!).

Initially I was just startled but then he clamped down and wouldn't let go then he did an alligator roll tearing a chunk of my flesh loose and it started bleeding.

I still have to handle them at work but doesn't mean that I love it (or snakes). However it is part of what I do so I just think of it in business terms.

Huh. I never knew they could really do that much harm.

I think I have decided on a pair of rats... might get them this weekend or I may wait until next weekend... I will post pictures once I get them. 😍

I like rats too, so I'm okay with this decision. Can't wait to see them!
Will you have issues with bringing them to the states during breaks?

I wouldn't bring them to the states during breaks... I would find someone to look after them. I probably won't go back to the states during every break either.
