What are you going to buy with your first real Doc paycheck?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
1. Taking partner out to dinner somewhere with three $ or more!
2. Alexander McQueen knuckleduster clutch
3. Pair of Tanya Heath pumps
4. Liposuction (to start fitting into all the future designer clothing)

Anything special in that 240?

I've been puzzling over this question, not ignoring it. Are you asking if I tricked it out? Pimped my ride?

No.

The only thing special in it is the spectacular Volvo engine that has been powering it since the day it was made. I'm not saying that there is no sign of wear and tear, but I've seen 2 and 3 year old cars in far worse condition.

I suppose it might be fun to pay for the tax stamp to get a suppressor for my ar-15, and an eotech optic would also make a nice addition.
I would definitely recommend the optics. Silencers don't help you much unless you shoot near a neighborhood or whatnot. Even hurts accuracy. Optics, though, are amazing.

Volvo's last forever. That's a fact. You can try to break it, but it'll break you before that happens.

I would get a suppressor just because I could rather than because I needed one 🙂

Oh I know. I guess I just never saw a reason to get one, so I'm wondering why you would (in an non insulting way)?

I'm not a troll but I will defend myself when necessary. My stance on marriage reflects the fact that I do not believe in marriage. I am not a prostitute. I am on SDN because I enjoy conversing with educated people and because I think I might want to go to medical school.

From a practical standpoint, I hate wearing hearing protection...especially when shooting rifles. I know it's necessary, the 5.56 and .223 rounds are incredibly loud, but I've found that it's just really annoying to try to teach my wife things while fiddling with my and her hearing protection. We both enjoy shooting together, but she's relatively new. The pistol she uses for concealed carry has a threaded barrel, and it would be much easier to shoot with a suppressor on that, too.

With that said, legislation on gun control is largely dependent on the timing of who occupies what office, but generally, new laws grandfather those who already have prohibited items. I'd like to get my hands on suppressors for a few of my guns in case such legislation is approved to ban them.

After all, people usually want things that they can't have or afford, and gun enthusiasts usually want everything haha. I happen to fall into the gun enthusiast who can't afford things subcategory!

Nobody said you were a prostitute

Lol. Who are you? You don't believe in marriage? Do you mean to say that you don't personally want to get married? Because your belief in the actual union can be validated by the billions of unions that have been had between two people over the past thousands of years.

What are you doing on Allo anyway? You sound like you would be better served on hSDN or at a minimum Pre-Allo.

Pre-Allo has people just like you who sternly claim they are not prostitutes and think they might want to go to medical school. You'll fit right in.

Sorry I guess I'm just still not used to not being attacked. But if I had picked up on your joke it was funny

Just stop

Do you live in Baltimore? How was the curfew last night?

Poll: Too soon?

Honestly? I probably won't do anything that fun. Assuming I have a family by then, I will probably want to just go back home and spend time with them. Maybe buy some classy as **** wine.

There was no attack. You made some stupid comments that people responded too. Honestly it was pretty tame considering how intentionally or unintentionally offensive you were being.

You're doing it wrong. All of it.

I've never met someone who "enjoyed conversing with educated people" who wasn't insufferable.

Have a seat, kiddo. Have all the seats.

I'm actually a married woman, but thanks.

I realize now that your being married might have caused you to become offended by my statement, and I regret having stated it in the public domain.

I was mainly just interested in what that guy or girl meant when they said their wife earned the jewelry I should have just asked what they meant

Probably meant something similar to when I say my husband deserves not to work a job he dislikes. The spouse of a med student/resident puts up with a lot so if they are loving and supportive through that they deserve to be rewarded in a manner they would appreciate. If you disdain the concept of marriage then I wouldn't expect you to understand the type of give and take that occurs in a marriage but perhaps you could realize that is completely different than a prostitute-john transaction.

It's not so much "educated people" I mean more people who have gone to higher education. But yeah I appreciate the compliment.

I thought it was likely this is what they meant actually. But I wasn't 100% sure, so I thought I'd make a joke. But in retrospect it wasn't super funny, even though I do actually believe this.

Anyway thanks everyone for being patient

Nah. He gets in the way of my shoe collecting occasionally but besides that, scotch car parts and red meat can't really send me into debt.
Cool I was supporting the fact that you had a productive career by this comment

@Mad Jack surprised you are liking those comments as I was one of few people reading your long articles with figures describing student debt issues

But if you don't want me to be part of the conversation I don't need to be part of it

I agree with their general point in regard to the particular comments I liked. Agreeing with someone and discussing things with them some of the time doesn't mean you want to agree with them and converse with them all of the time. Don't take differences in opinion (or likes, for that matter, which are fractions of a difference in opinion, if that) personally.

Give and take in your relationship has nothing to do with whether or not you are married
