Another call from the University of Arizona. This time it was the dean of admissions at the Tucson campus. That makes three calls in the last two weeks. They sure know how to make a girl feel wanted 😀

Hey, I thought you were coming to Portland. Don't just fall for a guy with a pretty face and a good line. (Yeah, I know you are married with kids and I am in the hold pool at OHSU but Portland is a great town and Oregon is the best.)

I'm still leaning heavily toward OHSU (sorry). I hope you get off the hold pool soon...aren't most accepted students first placed on hold? Portland and Oregon seem great, and I really want to get out of the sub-basement level of hell (Tucson).

Received a snail mail rejection from NJMS yesterday.

still waiting to hear some kind of response from Temple.
 
ditto on the njms rejection. i dont think i ever submitted my secondary though...shows how much i care about NJ
 
Waitlisted at U of Wisconsin and Temple...my only interviews so far. 🙁 🙁 🙁

Not looking forward to all the questions from the family about med school today. 👎

Sorry to to hear the waitlist, but it is better than nothing. Also, I don't like the disappointing manner in which some family friends talk about my waitlists with me. It stings a bit.

SLU Acceptance after my regional interview in Seattle
 
UF sent me a letter saying I can be put on the alternate list. Actually it read (and I hate the person who decided to write it like this) UF COM is pleased to inform you that you have been selected to be put on an alternate list for the class of 2011. They make it sound like you just won a prize, and I'm pretty sure that if you don't get accepted, they give you a spot on the alternate list no matter what...blah :wow:

I just received an interivew invitation from Loyola, and the lady told me that they are giving acceptances still.

I was complete by September, how's that for weird ... but hey, I'd like a long weekend in Chicago.
 
Not med school related, but I got a bill for an overdue library book from my undergrad....a fine that I already paid *four years ago* when I graduated. :meanie:

Post-interview rejection from Rush via Snail Mail. I interviewed there 2/28.
 
Rush Medical College is in the final stages of its interview season. We have
completed all on-campus interviews and are one step closer to determining our entering class of 2007.

What does this mean for our waitlist applicants? In mid April, once all initial
admission decisions have been made by the Committee on Admissions, we will be reviewing the files of each waitlist applicant and making a final decision
regarding your position on the 2007 waitlist. In order for us to consider any
additional information from you, please send updates to the Office of Admissions no later than April 27, 2007. After May 10, we will communicate via e-mail your placement on our waitlist: the top third, middle third, or lower third.

At this point in time, we do not anticipate movement from the waitlist until
after the AAMC May 15th multiple accept deadline.

While we realize this is a stressful time in the application process, we would
like to encourage you to fill out both the FAFSA and our institutional financial
aid application. By completing these forms and submitting the appropriate
documentation now, we will be able to quickly award a financial aid package,
should you be offered an acceptance from our waitlist.

In addition, please notify AMCAS immediately with any new contact information. Additional updates to your file and any questions may be sent to
[email protected].
 
Nothing.....not a thing! i haven't heard from several schools post-secondary and haven't heard from one school post-interview....rest are waitlists post interview.

I received a bill for $188 for that famed "free" Canadian healthcare stating that if I didn't pay that $188, I would be "assessed penalty."
 
Received my first acceptance from RFU/CMS today!!!! Absolutely thrilled! It's been a long tortuous path.

I guess it always works out in the end.

Yup, central Illinois (some 145 miles south of North Chicago). You're right, it should not have taken longer than 3 days to make it to central Illinois. 😕 Didn't think of that. Now I have fewer days to get their letter of intent back.
