What do PharmD/MDs/DOs with MPHs do as opposed to somebody with just an MPH?

I'm currently enrolled in a pharmacy program, but I'm not really sure if I want to do it. While I haven't completely eradicated the pharmD option, I am contemplating on switching to pre-med but I've recently started to think about getting an MPH alone. I've noticed though that a lot of PharmDs, MDs, and DOs complete a dual-degree option, so I was wondering how doctors and pharmacists utilize their MPH degree as opposed to somebody who solely has an MPH degree.
Sorry if this is a repetative question.
Thank you

Google, "Pharmd, MPH" and you will find out what they do. Many do research and clinical work. Some are directors of outcomes research. Some work for the FDA or CDC. In fact one pharmd, MPH i know of was a CDC intelligence officer(link below). I think a pharmD, MPH would be more useful in most cases than a MPH alone. That is unless you want a PHD in public health and want to teach. Like i have said before if you want to go to md school then switch now.

I'm glad this was brought up!!! Im have 2 more years to go for my PharmD and starting to consider the possibility of doing an MPH when I graduate and before residency. Im very interested in clinical pharmacy but also public health... my goal is to eventually work from an Infection Control/Antimicrobial Surveillance prespective one of these days.

I would say if you are not at all interested in working retail pharmacy (like me), but are more interested in public health from a medication prespective go for the PharmD/MPH. Many programs will allow you to do the MPH in a year if you have a doctorate degree already
