I am happy to announce that the ASDOH called me today to set up my first interview!!! I'll be interviewing on 9/30.

Now my stress level is only 99% instead of 100%!
 
yo yo yo.... my interview with Arizona on 9/30 too. Can't wait to meet all wonderful people from the school and other applicants.
 
ran to the mailbox after school only to find a very thin letter from Tufts. As expected, it said that i was not selected for an interview. It went on to say during the 2002-2003 cycle, they received 2000 apps for 150 positions and successful applicants have 3.2 overall, 3.0 science and 17's. I am above all those numbers...go figure 😕 Maybe they dont like IT people.

Oh well, I got the BU interview and I would much rather go there over tufts if i decided to move to Massachesetts anyway. I guess i am not too pissed(<---lie). I dont want that type of letter from any other schools! Its soo painful to be a reject :scared:
 
Shawn, how could u get rejected from TUFTS so early? And your stats are damn good! WTF is wrong with this picture?
 
I called UNLV. They told that they started the interview on 9/17.

There's a lot of things that I like about BU. First and foremost is their APEX program. If I get into BU, I might consider them over Tufts.

I have spent a lot of time on Boston U's website. Their program sounds darn good. I like the APEX stuff too. (Although i dont FULLY understand it)

I really would like to know too. I spent 4 months writing my personal statement and everyone who has reviewed it thought it was strong, so I doubt its that. However, I'm a business major, and as such, i have no research experience. Maybe thats what they didnt like.

how can you possibly get a rejection from tuft with your stats?

i wonder if you could send an appeal
or at least call the school to find out the reason

i know how you feel dude. don't worry about tufts. you are a good candidate and i am sure your app was all good. sometimes, eventhough you meet their requirements, they still go for others.

i know its so painful to read those letters. heck, i was rejected by Ohio st in mid july without even having my DAT scores sent to them. now that hurts.😡 again sorry to hear that though. i had to go through 4 of those so don't feel too bad.

Today, i got these 2 letters:

-UB at NY...your app has been placed in the "continuing review" catagory. it'll keep being reviewed from time to time and we will let you know if anything happens. it goes further to say that "this cat is for those apps is not prepared to take final action on at this time". i have no idea what they are saying. i see as we will ask u for interview if there is any seats avail in jan or something. anyone get something like this??

_USC...letter saying your app has passed the 1st round, and now its in the 2nd round of review. you'll be contacted if any determination has been made on your app.
i hope it makes it to the 3rd and even 12th round. how many rounds is there?

anyways, i feel like i am just being teased by these schools but its still good to hear something.

not necessarily.

I think its agreed that an application consists of more than just GPA/DAT. There are other aspects of the application that sets each applicant appart (life experience, background, work experience, volunteering, motivation etc.)
 
Receive the interview invite from Indiana University. I am excited to visit there, and I hear many positive reputations about IU. 🙂
 
Today is my excited day! While I opened the mail box, I saw several "big" envelopes which looked like "school format". yea.. I am right. I receive interview invites from Columbia, Case Western, and Nova. These schools are excellent, and I definitely will go.

ps. It is good to see Andy at NOVA. 🙂

FRI's and SAT's seem to be the two days when people receive good things. at least that has been the case for me.

i hope today will be one of those days for me and the rest of us!

Received an interview invite from Columbia in the mail today. I'm so excited!
 
man its been 5-6 weeks since i have gotten anything significant.

i am starting to get anxious and nervous now.
 
Hey perfect,

I spoke to a few people from dental schools today, and it sounds like a lot of schools are behind. The lady at pittsburgh said to call back later in the week, as they just started putting aadsas information into their systems. Be patient, you'll do fine.

rejection letter from Tuft..... don't understand why ? here are their reasons:

".... applicants typically invited for interviews have a GPA over 3.2, a sience GPA over 3.0 and scores of 17 and above on all portions of DAT........ to strengthen your application for future admisions cycles, the AdCom ecourages you to complete add.. upper-level science courseworks at a 4-years uni.... with grades of "B" or above and to obtain scores of 17 and above on DAT...." .. darn... I had better stats than that.... with 90 hrs upper-level science classes and BS degree ... what else do they want ? by the way .. I don't care much anymore..

today, was a bittersweet day. I took the DAT and did better than before. On the downside, I got a rejection letter from Tufts, which is exactly the same letter that they gave Larryt.
 
Has anyone received a rejection letter from Arizona?

Also, I heard from a pretty reliable source that Arizona does not want the demographic of students this year that were accepted last year...that they want more minority/people who will serve underrepresented communities.

Gavin, hear anything on your end?

Got a letter from Case today, which said they will "hold" my application until my fall 2003 grades are received. Sucks, I'm well over their range of applicant gpa/dat...ohh well, whatever cleveland is pretty ghetto and i probably wouldn't have gone there anyway. Their loss.
 
Zurich5. Did you interview with CWU already or they just hold your application before interview?

They told me the interviewee by Dec. 1 and in January, 2004 would be considered primary applicants. I actually don't believe that. According to the posts in SDN last year, CWU class is almost full by end of January. Anyone has any idea?
 
No, I didn't interview before i received the letter. Not sure the reason behind this, but I'll call the school tommorow and let you know what they say. Good luck.
 
i love the day today. not home to wait for the mail and finding out there is nothing for me.

Got a letter from USC stating my application has proceeded to the third and most critical level of review.

Does that mean I will get an interview? Please, oh please say its so!

i know i am still in the second round. lets hope there aren't 12 round to this.

anyways, i think i nailed the interview at indiana today and they seemed to have liked me a lot. one of told me he hope he see me again and to call him dec 1 to find out about my acceptance.

it sounds really good but i don't wanna keep my hopes too high and be disappointed later. i guess i'll find out dec 1.

hope you guys are having fun cuz i will be since aphistis is on his way to pick me up to go to a comedy club.

i tild you guys people here are nice.

Regarding USC, I hope they dont have 12 rounds. Each time i check the mail and see a thin envelope my heart races. Seeing thin letters is noooo fun!

shawnone, i totally feel your pain man. its def the worset feeling to getting those thin letters. my interviewee actually really stressed to me that they really feel our pain in these times and they know what we must be going through. can't wait for all this to be over.
 
Very true Perfect. But when you get that acceptance letter/phone call, there's no better feeling in the world! I was on cloud 9 when I got my news, and I'm still riding high!! The air is sweeter, the days are sunnier and you have this euphoric feeling everytime you think of your accomplishment. I know you guys will all be experiencing the same thing come Dec 1.

thank you for the kind words. hopefully i'll have some good letters waiting for me in the mail when i get home on sat from indy.

though i am def set on iu, you never know where you end up so hopefully we could have afew choices.

I got the same letter from USC. Basically it means that you have a very good chance of getting an interview....however, when? The guy I spoke to said that they have not invited anyone yet, but I should know in a month.

Anway CONGRATS!
 
The only Cali school starts interviewing is Loma Linda. I did not see others in the website. I talked to sc coordinator. She said the first interview might start in middle of October.

They are asking for the usual information plus two essays. One essay is to explain how your background and experience will contribute to diversity within the school and the other is to explain why you want to go to UW.
 
First good news ive heard in a long while, interview invite at UMich in late Oct/early Nov.
 
Interview invite from NYU. Despite the criticism, I'm psyched about checking out En-Why-Cee! Very cool 😎
