to those in the know,

if you're applying to both the navy and air force hpsp, do you have to undergo the physical and medical exam at MEPS twice, once for each branch you're applying to?

has anyone here applied or is going to apply to more than one branch?

ideally, i'd choose only one branch to apply to, but my recruiter's really putting the pressure on me to turn in my app by september 1st, and i don't have enough time to thoroughly research and choose which branch would be the best fit for me.

if you are still a predent and are in the process of applying to dental school, your recruiters won't turn in your applications until the acceptances come in your hand. But applying early gives you an advantage because it takes very long to process the form called Pre-Screening for Medical Applicants. ALL Officer Commissions are put through the Secretary of Defenses Office for signature, and this can take up to 12 weeks. Make sure you submit this particular form early and the rest of your application won't go out until december at earliest.

I think that the Army and the Air Force will give you an auto-admit with certain stats and then make it official when you get the letter. I agree about getting it in early, though. My scroll took 2.5 months.

To the OP, I applied to both the Navy and Air Force. You don't need to go to MEPS twice and the recruiters weren't outwardly offended about it, but I guess they could have been unhappy behind closed doors. I ended up taking the Navy.

I am currently in the same situation. I am applying to both army and air force. The recruiters don't have any problem contacting each other. The Air force will automatically give you the HPSP if your GPA is 3.5 and DAT is over 19 AA. Otherwise you face the board before they decide to give you the scholarship. I told the Air Force recruiter that I was also applying to the Army just in case the Air Force doesn't pan out so that I can serve in another capacity.

if someone were to apply to two branches the second time, would they just repeat 1 MEPS? how does this process work?
after doing a MEPS with one service, would I ask the recruiter of the second service to pull up my MEPS done at the first service?

Yes the recruiter from the other service can pull your physical and use it so you don't have to redo it.
