What is the point of second look if all schools schedule on the same weekend....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This is one of my big frustrations with this process as well. Four second looks, one weekend. Feels like I'm being forced to choose my favorite school without the chance to truly compare them all.

I understand that it's a tight timeline, though. Boo.

5 acceptances, all second looks are on the same day. I agree with you, seems pretty stupid. I don't know what the point is if you can't go to your two top choices, for example. It seems to just be a day to meet your new classmates.

Do you think they don't know this?

Most schools interview through mid-March and send final decisions on those applicants by the end of March. Traffic day is April 30th. Easter takes up one weekend in April. This leave 2-3 available weekends. There are 120+ medical schools . You're bound to have overlap.

True, I guess it's complaining for complaining's sake

Man. Talk about first world problems.

"I have these acceptances to a half dozen medical schools, but I'm limited in my opportunities to return to those campuses to decide which one is the very best for me."

I mean, I get it. This is a big decision. But if you put it in perspective just a little... what a nice problem to have!

Verrrry true. Really I've gotten bored so I just complain about meaningless things in my free time

After interviews, you should have enough info to make your own rank list.

Yeah you are right. I guess I just got the wrong impression that second look was a chance to make a more educated comparison with each school's experience fresh in my mind. Again, it's a great problem to have though.....
