hi guys

remember I said my DAT expired just 2 weeks ago and with Midwestern's MA program starting I plan on taking the DAT in mid september?

Well I think I'm not gonna take the DAT now because this MA program is just going to be so intense I don't think I have any time to study for DAT. It has been 3 years since I took my last DAT and some of these stuff are like brand new to me. I already paid the $2600 for AADSAS application and I guess I'll just have to let it go to waste.... I would try to take the DAT if it was only my 2nd time....but no. This retake will be my 3rd time... I'm really scared that if I don't get higher than my last DAT (AA 20 TS 20) it will look terribly bad on my app OR I take it in November and do hopefully good (at least the same score) but then it will be too late.

Have you guys heard anyone taking it more than 3 times?

P.S. The evolution and taxonomy (protist.....plantae.... blah) are my worst concern now. Too much boring info in too little time... Do I really need to spend a lot of time on it?

thanks.... I'm scared sh*tless now...

There's no way to know how much of it will show up on the actual test. I had zero taxonomy questions, but I've heard of people getting 3-4 questions. *shrug* With bio you either try to study it all or you accept that you can't cover it all because of whatever reasons (not enough time, simply not enough space in your noggin, etc).

Perhaps it would be best to not retake now. I certainly wouldn't retake if I had big enough doubts about my capability to score at least near/at/above where you are now.

You did apply to Midwestern on AADSAS right? It might be a long shot with your DAT scores being so old, but you never know, MWU might give you an exception, they did accept a fairly large number of their MA biomed students for the current class (2016).
