I searched this title verbatim and nothing came up. Interesting. So, all I need to do is have the writer sign it, stamp it with the clinics name. Can I put amcas and aacomas Id on the same letter?

All letters need to be written on a letterhead with the authors signature at the bottom. If you are using a letter service like Interfolio (which I recommend), you can have the author upload the letter online. When you send the letters from Interfolio, you are given the option of including your amcas or aacomas ID during the delivery.

I'm doing it by mail. I don't know wha you mean by letterhead..? I'm a newbie. Here's what I am going to do:

1. Print out sheet from interfolio
2. Have envelope ready to send to interfolio.
3. Get The writer to sign it and stamp it ( or whatever I need to do)
4. Write my AACOMAS and amcas ID on that same letter
5. Mail the letter to interfolio

Does this look okay? I'm sick of the confusion lol

You don't need to include any AACOMAS or AMCAS ID in your letters. If you are sending your letter to Interfolio your writers have a couple options.

#1. You can print your Interfolio tracking letter and physically mail the letter to them. If you are writing the letter and your physician is signing it, email it to them and have the office print the letter on the clinics official letter head. Sign, drop in envelop and call it a day.

#2. You can have your writer electronically upload the document to Interfolio. In this case, there should be an option for your writer to "sign" the letter with their mouse. There will be a section when they upload where they add their signature. Same rules apply, you email the letter to your writer, they copy it over to an official letter head, they create an Interfolio account and upload.

You are not supposed to have any contact with the letter when requesting a confidential LoR, so make sure your physician or their office staff creates the Interfolio account and uploads the document if you go that route. Likewise, don't put your address as the return address on a document you are mailing to Interfolio 👍

Why then do all of sdn always say to put the AACOMAS ID on the letter? What if they don't have a letterhead and just want to print it on a regular piece of paper. Yea dont worry ill make the return address the address of the clinic lol
