On the subject of not sleeping...
Any sci-fi lovers out there might enjoy the book Beggars in Spain or Beggars & Choosers by Nancy Kress. Central themes have to do with the personal and social consequences and benefits of genetic engineering. The most interesting & controversial gene mod in the book: the sleepless gene.
I love sleeping--because I need it--but would donate a body part if it meant I never had to sleep again.
