PA or PT. Probably work in the healthcare field for the gap year and apply to med school again (Will have the clinical experience and the hours needed for PA school if it came down to it). If I tried my best and got rejected twice, then its time to move on. Will be disappointed but not gonna cry about it. Life has so much more to offer than getting into med school.

this is my logic, two times is the right number, three or more just seem like to many times and its not for me.

Being a forest ranger would be sweet too. I agree that anything outdoors all the time would be a great gig

I actually had two friends do this after college. Went and became climb guides in a huge national park. They wanted me to join them, but at the time I (foolishly) said no. Instead I awkwardly stalked their photos for the next 2 years of all the beautiful scenery and wildlife they saw just going to work. I'd be happy to live in a tent with no possessions if I got to wake up to beautiful views every day.

how does one become a forest ranger?

I think I would look into becoming a firefighter/paramedic or a police officer.

My plan B is being a Homicide Detective. My top 3 interests would be medicine, law, and criminal investigations. I don't want to take a chance in the law market, and I love criminal investigation.

I remember hearing a couple of acquaintances say that if they didn't get in this cycle that they had a gun and bullet waiting at home 😱

My plan B (if I didn't get in in 2-3 cycles) was to get my PhD in physics or just be happy with running my side buisness.

Or just become a jet setting playboy

I'm not exactly sure...I know that they had connections because one of them had a brother who was already a forest ranger, so maybe they got expedited certification or something? their main job was taking people rock climbing, but they also got trained for wilderness emergencies too. So jelly.

For my four years of undergrad I worked in higher ed development and have a pretty lengthy resume in that field. Honestly, if I couldn't be a doctor, I know I'd probably feel resentment elsewhere in the healthcare field, and would just take an immediate, well-paying job in this field.

edit: actually, I may go back to grad school and go into medical research.

Totally feel this. I would still really want to do clinically relevant research, but I think working in healthcare as anything other than a doctor (nurse, PA, etc.) would just be a daily reminder of failure... Still think PT is also super cool though so thats another option.
