Our class is a little over 200 students. I think the size is just about right, allowing you to recognize all of your classmates by sight, but not necessarily being small enough where everyone knows everything about their classmates and gossip becomes a problem.

Then again, I went to a larger Big 10 school for my undergrad, so I've learned to enjoy some degree of anonymity.

i'm hopin' that the majority of those who are at least 150 pounds are not girls!!!

Good thing you read the question.

Class size just over 260, and we are divided among several satellite campuses for the preclinical years. I'm about to graduate, and I've barely even met half my class.

What a dumb thing to say. I weigh more than 150 pounds, yet look just fine (a little chubby, but not too bad in my blog pics). In fact, my weight was 145-155 in high school, and I was a size 7-8 (and didn't look like a body builder).

Weight is a poor judge of character.

Ditto, although I only know about 5% of my class since I'm just a first year, and my satellite campus has only 15 1st year students (280 total in the class). I take it you're about to graduate from IU, Tanner5?

ha ha that was the biggest misread ever. I should drop out and join Barnum and Bailey

My class at Sydney University (in Australia of course) has nearly 270.

It is huge I know - but most of the learning takes place in small group tutorials, so class size doesn't bother me.

My group at the hospital has 6 people, and sometimes I wish there would be less (maybe 3-4) so that each person gets more exposure to the patients when taking histories/doing exams. But come third year, we will have all the exposure to patients we want.

About 7.5 inches

My future school will have 90-100 students...Talk about small! I had 75 people in my high school graduating class...I LOVED high school so if it's anything like that I'm psyched. 🙂 I do hope that gossip/rumors/etc aren't a big problem though!!

Yep pianoboe. My class also started out at 280, but 4 years of attrition has taken its toll and dropped us to just over 260.

Right now it looks like I'm going to go to a school with a class size of 32 unless I get into my dream school with a class size of 42... The small size was the biggest attraction in my interest in those schools. I want the "warm fuzzy" feel, and so I'm willing to put up with the less desirable aspects of such a small group...

Anyone else put down their weight instead of the number of students?

Anyhow, my class has 230 in it, I think the size is just right, big enough to make friends/find interesting people and recognize almost everyone in the class, and not so small so everyone knows your business and you have to deal with small group drama or the same lame a$$ people you may or may not get stuck with in a class of 40.

Hate to break it to you, but it usually is. Med students are the biggest gossip queens. 😀

lol i totally am anticipating a return to high school as far as gossip, etc go. 🙂 are med students clique-y, too?

True

Gossip has a way to run like wildfire in medschool 👎

More like Middle School. Everyone is up in everyone else's business. You have to watch what you say. Oh, and my class size is about 60, which might explain the drop to Middle School level when it comes to gossip.

I most likely will be attending PSUCOM in the fall so my future class size is about 135.
