When should I start getting LORs?

A little background.

I was rejected from every dental school I applied to last year so I applied to a Masters program which will start this Fall. I am also planning on retaking my DAT towards the end of this summer. Late August/Early September. My scores from the first time were: AA 19/ TS 19- BIO 19 GC 21 OC 17/ PAT 18/ QR 21/ RC 20.

First off I would like to know if my retake does not result in a better score then are these scores any good for a reapplicant. Although, I cannot say how my GPA will be during the Masters I intend on obtaining over a 3.6.

Next, since I plan on applying next year for the class of 2016 when should I start asking for letter of recommendations from my Masters professors? Or should I try to reconnect with my undergrad professors who wrote me the recommendations the first time around?

I asked for mine during my Junior year, the semester before applying for dental schools. I started asking in January and asked them to deliver them by April/May..
