Do you guys think it would be better to have say a 20 AA, 20 PAT, or instead a 22 AA, 18 PAT. Seems like it should be equal, both add up to 40, but is emphasis placed on the academic avg, since it comprises 3/4 of the DAT?

I'd definitely take the 22 AA. Thats a huge improvement over the 20 AA.

Example of a 20:

Bio - 18
Chem - 19
Orgo - 19
RC - 20
QR - 22

TS = 19

Example of a 22:

Bio - 20
Chem - 21
Orgo - 21
RC - 22
QR -24

TS = 21

A 2 point increase in AA means, on average, that each component was raised by 2 points. Big difference.

Plus, the PAT is important, but not THAT important. For a school like UOP it is important, but for most other schools, anything above a certain threshold is acceptable. And 18 is definitely acceptable.

that's difficult to say...both will get you in, but I think it might be better to have a 20/20 because it shows you are well rounded, not that you wouldn't be with a 22/18. I guess it just depends on the ADCOM you are talking to...some may stress PAT, others may stress the AA. Just depends...personally I'd rather take the 20/20.
