After taking the beast and scoring in the 80th percentile i have respect for the beast (step 1). Here is the situation, my friend who failed 184, retook it after he scored a 180 on nbme 6, 5 days to the test. He went ahead beuase he claims there is a stat somewhere that shows people who fail with 184 are almost a lock to pass the second time around. I think the stats for second time takers is more like 67% . who is right?. Also, is not almost a crazy going into the test with a 180 on nbme 6 even though he studied hard the last 5 days??

I'm not quite sure what you're asking.

Did you friend fail with a 184 and is retaking it right away because there is a statistic that retakers pass 67% of the time? If so, hopefully he will pass, but that stat includes people who, after failing, sat down and studied a few weeks/months more before retaking.

yeah he failed with a 184. he actually did study after for 5 weeks but his nbme(6) before the retake was 180
