why is texas special?

Just for the record: I thought I’d address some of the political comments made in this thread:

1. Liberal ≠Socialist ≠Feminist ≠ Unpatriotic (please stop using these terms interchangeably)
2. Not all older/wiser people become “red” and conservative policies are not necessarily better for wealthy people. My parents are RICH and they are very liberal.
3. I think there is a reason why the big cities are more liberal. In larger cities there are universities and many jobs that require workers with extensive education. Notice how areas become more liberal as the level of education among the citizens increases...coincidence? I think not, 17 of the 20 most intelligent states voted blue.

That is all; carry on.

Interesting analysis Jubilee.

A few things though.

The GOP does have many wealthy, well-educated persons who are very conservative. Remeber, it does get steroetyped as "the party of the rich white man".

I don't believe that, but it does mess with your analysis.

I also think the "tests" that determine which states are " most intelligent" are seriously flawed.

Still, "VEBY, VEBY INN-TER-ESTING!"

But I agree, Tx is like the sister to Fl in backwardness, though I think you got it worse. Must have something to do with being runned by the Bush family. J/k.

Hahahahahaha  That's great! Despite being beautiful...Florida definitely has issues of it's own, you don't really realize it until you have lived here...even so, I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else. At least when we get frustrated there is always a beach within at least two hours drive of anywhere (more likely closer) that we can go relax on and forget everything else wrong with the state

This generally happens to a lot of threads. People post for honest answers and advice and others start flame wars. I'm sorry this happened to your thread.

On the bright side, there are some fun and good posts in here too.
