Its hard to judge without pictures of your wife 
But yes, I understand where you're coming from, however its nothing to be bothered about. Success is sweeter when you pull yourself through. Unless your wife asks them to, they have no obligation to pay for you. And if I were in similar position, I wouldn't want anyone to pay for me, and have my hot wife not ask her filthy rich Maserati-drivin' parents for money.
