i was gona finish up my review then write my last two exams in two days:

aamc 10 on the 6th then take the rest of the day off
then aamc 9 on the 7th and take the rest of the day off

My exam is on the 11th. Has anyone written two exams in a row like that? I hope i dont burn out -.-

Ive usualy been writing them 2 days apart with review in between.

edit - i dont want to push them back any further because i want to review everything one final time before the real exam and then take time off

I'm taking the MCAT on 9/11 also and I'm doing back to back MCATs.

I did AAMC 5 this morning, took a break from 3 till 7pm and then reviewed the test the rest of the evening.

I plan on doing AAMC 6 tomorrow and doing the same thing. I found that by spacing it out throughout the day, it wasn't bad at all.

I've taken full-length MCATs back-to-back in two days several times now. I generally find I score worse on the second one, though it's hard to determine whether the "burn-out" effect is real or not (e.g. I took AAMC #5 on 8/31 and got a 32, then took AAMC #6 on 9/1 and got a 28, but it was mainly because I totally bombed the VR section by about 3 points). The past week or so I took TBR #4 on 8/24, TBR #5 on 8/27, AAMC #4 on 8/29, AAMC #5 on 8/31, AAMC #6 on 9/1, and today (9/3) I took AAMC #7. I plan on taking AAMC #8 tomorrow in the evening after about 3-4 hours of Biology review, then taking #9 on 9/6, and then finally #10 on 9/8. I don't go over my answers until the next day and be sure to relax some right after the practice exam - like exercise or watch Comedy Central Presents stand-up...I'm taking the 9/11 exam as well...I plan on spending Thursday and Friday only going over AAMC material - I have the Official Guide to the MCAT book and also this guy: http://www.amazon.com/Practice-Asso...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1282694553&sr=8-3

i'm testing on the 11th too and have done 3 in 3 days now (not at the time i'll be taking the real deal, which would be better i'm sure but anyway). it is less time than i was putting in trying to madly finish all the EK 30min exams, so it actually feels like letting off slightly.

anyway, first, i would prefer to put in some back to backs if i need to to avoid NEEDING to do another closer to the 11th than i feel comfortable. second, if you start to feel like a burnt out madman then listen to yourself and back off. just two cents.

I think doing two FLs back-to-back is a bad idea. I mean, each FL takes about 5 hours and for me it took about another 2 hours to review answer choices. That's 7 whole hours and it really takes a lot out of you. I never did any FLs the week of my MCAT; I just did some VR tests and reviewed the basics.

i dont think i spend 2 hours on review, thats a lot. maybe 30 mins, but i review each exam several times over the week - specifically looking at what i did wrong

It doesn't take me 5 hours to do a full-length, more like 3:40 maybe including breaks. I skip the writing section. I review my answers the next day, and usually spend 60-90 minutes reviewing. Probably closer to only an hour. On PS, I quickly look at the answers I got right and just make sure I did it correctly/had the right thought process, but on the ones I got wrong, spend more time. With VR, I only review the answers I got wrong. Only about 1/3 of the time or so is it because I made a dumb mistake; most of the time I missed a VR question because I didn't fully understand/correctly interpret the passage. On BS, my weakest section, I try to spend more time and read every answer explanation in full. At any rate, I don't understand how people can say that reviewing an exam can/should take longer than actually taking the exam. Maybe I just read fast.

because all those people do is review exams. i might review exams too, but not to that extent. instead, i spend my time reviewing my mcat study notes.

I have also been skipping the writing section, but i might do it one time just to test my endurance. ill probably try it on my last aamc.

While reviewing an exam doesn't take me as long as actually taking the exam, it does take me more than an hour or two because as I'm reviewing what I did wrong, I'm also studying the material that was needed to get that question right. For me, it's not just about seeing what I did right or wrong, but it's also about how to continue doing what I did right or how to fix the problem so that I don't do the same wrong thing.

it's totally doable.

i would never recommend my study plan for anybody bc i got really burned out: after my finals were over, i took a FL everyday for the 2 weeks leading up to my mcat. i didnt have time for FLs during the semester and didn't feel the urgency till summer hit. those 2 weeks sucked but i got the score i wanted!
