I was wondering if anyone had any information on the Research Scholars Program at WSU, such as its set up, what one does in the program, and its benefits and downsides. Thank you!

I did see that page and one specific question I wanted to clarify was that the "three to four years" are at the same time as the DVM program. So its 4 years total and not 8-7. I was also curious if anybody had firsthand experience with the program.

Yes it is concurrent with the DVM program - this is definitely not the same as a PhD.
I don't believe anyone on this site has done it before. There are few active WSU students. @MixedAnimals77 and @Peaches95 but I don't think either have done it

One of my bffs did the research program. Pretty much what the page said and it is concurrent with dvm as coffee said. You also arent committed to it for a solid 3-4years just the length of your project. So bff technically only did 2years of research and is working on publishing right now as the other half and only did data collection over the summer.

What other questions did you have? I can probably answer or if I cant answer from her experience then I can ask her directly
